Holidays in Lake District

The Lake District is the obvious place for a fishing break as it has so many lakes to choose from. It has many rivers as well offering guests variety and interest, so fishing holidays in the Lake District are a must for anyone who loves to fish. There are also plenty of other water sports on offer, such as wild swimming, canoeing and kayaking; all of which allow you to soak up the stunning scenery from a different perspective. You can also combine fishing with a walk, ramble or hike, depending on your ability, which will also allow you to appreciate the abundance of natural beauty on offer within the National Park.

Free fishing is on offer at Lake Windermere, the longest lake; Ullswater, the second largest lake; and Coniston Water, which is looked over by the mountain known as the Old Man of Coniston. There is a range of fishing available throughout the Lake District: from trout and salmon in the rivers to pike and coarse fishing in the larger lakes. Wheelchair anglers can even enjoy a spot of fishing at Coniston Boating Centre where an electric wheelchair accessible boat is on offer. With many holiday cottages having fishing on-site or nearby, it is the ultimate staycation destination for anglers and their friends or families.
