Enjoying an elevated position overlooking the village of Lydbrook, this charming cottage offers a clever mix of both the old and new and is just perfect whatever the occasion or the time of year.

An enviable location within the heart of the Forest of Dean, on the fringes of a traditional village with shop and two pubs, is the ideal base to make the most of the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. Great for thrill seekers with rock climbing and canoeing at Symonds Yat, Go Ape at Mallards Pike and mountain biking throughout the Forest of Dean and Black Mountains across the Welsh Border. Whatever the time of year you’ll be spoilt for choice with a vibrant events calendar, for foodies, festivals to include Abergavenny and Forest Showcase festival, for music lovers many of the smaller villages host festivals throughout the summer months. Not forgetting the Hay on Wye festival and Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Take a minute to take in the view across the roof tops of the village below before you step in inside. The dining room sympathetically restored with an original bread oven and warming colour scheme creating the perfect backdrop for a simple supper. Take a step into the lounge which has exposed beams and an inviting wood burner, again enjoying a warm interior that’s perfect for a cosy night in watching a movie or simply catching up with friends. The kitchen is situated to the rear of the cottage, a contemporary style with picturesque Mandarin tiles complementing the work tops. The space is well-equipped and ready to test the best of chefs with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice-compartment, dishwasher and washing machine. There is a bathroom with shower over bath and WC on this floor. When the day is done climb the cottage style stairs where you will find a king-size bedroom with en-suite shower and WC. The second bedroom is a king-size-zip-and-link(which can be made into a twin on request).

Take your morning coffee outside and enjoy the views, the gardens are enclosed with a table and chairs and BBQ. There is roadside parking.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

A very comfortable, well appointed and lovingly renovated ex miners cottage. The original "2 up, 2 down" layout is retained with a modern L shaped single storey added to the rear containing the kitchen and downstairs bathroom. Sunnyside Cottage was really well equipped and a great base to explore the Forest of Dean. The owners have done a remarkable job restoring the 200 year old miners cottage into a luxury abode. The cotagge is very nice upon a small hill. There is a nice view from the garden. We couldn't think of anything whe missed in the cotagge. Everything was new and clean. Knifes were sharp and all was there we needed. The beds were good as well. We slept very good. We also was deliverd bread, milk and eggs for the first day. It was good!
