Beautiful little cottage, with a fab enclosed garden, the dog loved it. The welcome was wonderful with cake and fruit, lots of nice little touches. great location as you could walk into the forest from the village, as well as having all the amenities on your doorstep.

The property and ocation was everything you could wish for.The only downside was that there was only one pub in walking distance in the village which was totally souless didn't serve food and was probably the worst pub I have ever been in. If youre not worried about going out for a drink in the evening the cottage is faultless.

This property is a little gem and our stay was a return visit for a 2 week stay. I can thoroughly recommend it for a couple with one warning that the staircase to the bedroom is steep and I would say not suitable for an elderly person with serious mobility issues. Polly is a wonderful host and has many thoughtful little supplies when you arrive so Read moreyou do not have to rush out for a coffee etc. Hide

Cottage well presented and we were welcomed by Peggy with fruit, chocolates and banana cake. A good base for touring although parking at the cottage is very tight. We bought a weeks parking at the nearby car park - very reasonable. Would definatley recommend.

It was a gamble to stay at a village in the Forest of Dean that we had never been to before and a property only viewed briefly but what a lovely time we (and the dog) had. First fears were getting the car up the narrow entrance, but we did that easily enough, then it rained so hard we couldn't really go out - but who needs to? Warm log fire, bottleRead more of wine waiting for us in the fridge and a safe area for the dog to nip in and out of. We only went out on the first night, stayed in the rest! Hide

A really warm welcome of tea and scones, thick towels and bathrobes provided as well as unexpected treats made us really enjoy our stay in this very well equipped tiny cottage. Location very close to food shop and take aways but in quiet corner. Only drawback was slightly tricky parking.

We were warmly welcomed by Polly and provided with lots of little extra creature comforts to make the cottage more homely. We were in the perfect location to explore the forest whilst very close to shops and takeaways. Our dog loved the big garden and we would definitely recommend the cottage as we had a fantastic week.

Excellent location and very quiet considering it is so close to the road and shops. Completely enclosed garden so safe for dogs. Convenient for small supermarket, butchers, greengrocer and various takeaways.

Superb, very private little cottage with fabulous walled garden which makes for a perfect retreat. The town doesn't have anything to recommend it but it is very convenient for Ross, Gloucester, Forest of Dean etc. A good little supermarket is across the road so you don't have to worry about forgetting anything!
