Set within the grounds of Puzzlewood a magical ancient woodland of which you are free to explore, this stone barn is a perfect base for those wanting to enjoy the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.

Set within the grounds of Puzzlewood you can easily leave your car behind and enjoy exploring the ancient woodland, feeding time with the farm animals or take on the willow maze. Across the road you will find Perrygrove Railway where you can take the train into the woodland for a picnic. You are ideally placed where you can take full advantage of the walking and cycling that’s on your doorstep with the Wye Valley and Gloucestershire Way, and for the more adventurous there is absailing and kayaking at Symonds Yat, Forest of  Dean Adventure and the mountain biking down-hill courses and Clearwell caves a great underground experience with nine caverns for you to explore. And if you have time why not visit the market towns of Monmouth and Ross on Wye. You also have free entry to Puzzlewood for the duration of your stay with permitted access in daylight hours.

Situated overlooking the working farm yard the traditional sand stone and wooden door offers a warm welcome. Step inside to the entrance hall and leave your boots at the door. The lounge/kitchen/diner is just off the hallway boasting a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams and views on the small terrace dressed with cottage boarders. The lounge area is cosy with a comfy sofa and arm chairs that are perfect to sink into after a days exploring, there is also a TV/DVD. The dining area sits to the side of the room enjoying views onto the terrace with a table and chairs for four. The kitchen area is well-equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer. And when the day is done return to the hallway where you will find two bedrooms. One double with internal window and one twin room with TV. There is a bathroom with shower over bath and WC.

Enjoy a morning coffee on the small wooden terrace, there is a table and chairs overlooking the farm yard and cottage boarders. There is parking for one car.

Lovely location Cottage smelt of damp Not suitable for 4 people. Very cramped, if wet weather would be very difficult to hang out Double bed against a wall No wardrobe No window

Very comfortable cottage and great to have the enchanting woods to yourself after hours. Animals are so cute and very entertaining. I could have watched the pigmy goats for hours on the see saw. Brilliant location & within easy reach of places to visit. Really enjoyed being able to access Puzzlewood outside of public hours :) Cottage was clean, tidy & had everything we needed to make it a comfortable & welcoming place to stay.

We had a lovely visit to Puzzlewood Cottage. The accommodation was warm and the living area was perfect for us. There were a few steps up to the front door but otherwise it was all on one level and great for our toddler and Great Granny. Being on the farm was wonderful, including helping feed the animals each morning. The location was great and we Read morehad lovely meals at nearby pubs.
