This beautifully restored and renovated holiday cottage close to a pleasant village is designed for style, comfort and character.

Found, approximately three miles away from the pleasant Roman town of Cirencester, this tasteful property is quietly nestled in a courtyard setting. It lies in a secluded village in the Duntisbourne Valley, which is perhaps one of the prettiest valleys in the Cotswolds with its Saxon-age village church. There are wonderful views over unspoilt countryside and enjoyable long or short walks including a section of the Macmillan Way. Central for Cheltenham for the horse racing, Gloucester for its heritage, Oxford for its academia and history, Stratford-upon-Avon for its beauty and associations with the playwright William Shakespeare, and the quaint Cotswold towns of Burford and Stow-on-the-Wold. The region has good access to London and the north via train and motorway transport links.

Relax in the lounge/diner with its and cosy wood burner, where you can snuggle up on the sofa and watch the TV/DVD to watch a movie or listen to the hi-fi. There is a dining area in a wide corner with a table with room for four. If you decide to stay in and cook a meal there is a well-equipped kitchen with an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and a washing machine and tumble dryer. Upstairs, is a bedroom with a double zip-and-link bed (which can be made up as a twin on request). There is a further bedroom containing twin beds. Nearby is a bathroom with a shower over bath and a WC.

Stepping outside and overlooking the stream is the enclosed courtyard garden with a BBQ. You are free to make use of the half acre of land. Also, across the yard from the cottage, an old dairy has been kitted out for walkers for drying outdoor clothes and a place to keep your boots. There is off-road parking for two cars by the cottage.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20 for up to 7 nights, £40 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20 for every week or part week thereafter.

The owners of the cottage were simply lovely and available for anything, including to change the dishwasher within a few hours on 31 December! The cottage itself was romantic, comfortable, beautifully kept and restored, and important during winter: warm and cosy at all times. I would recommend traveling there by car as there is plenty to see in theRead more countryside around, including Bibury which is only a 20 minute drive away. It was a truly wonderful New Year holiday and I would love to come back. Hide

Cottage: Good set up. Adequate size. Very well equipped kitchen and living room (e.g. TV with DAB-Receiver with recording function). Fireplace: creates just the perfect atmosphere to enjoy a wine and host guests. The wood we had lasted very long therefore we didn't even have to top up (which would not be expensive). Children: Perfect fit for up to Read moretwo children. Owners: Live near and are very supportive if you need help. Superb! Hide

We really enjoyed the rural setting of River Cottage with its easy access to footpaths for walks. The owners were helpful and the cottage was warm, with plenty of logs for the fire. It was a nice place to stay and we would highly recommend it.

Lovely cottage with helpful and friendly owners next door. Everything we needed in the cottage, with pretty fresh flowers. The open plan into the lounge was great for chatting while preparing meals. The location was fabulous for our dog with fields where we could let her off lead. Thank you for a super, relaxed holiday.

Fabulous owners who gave us a warm greeting and were happy to help out with directions and recommendations too. Idyllic location for accessing all of The Cotswolds. We didnt want to eat out every evening so having such a well equipped kitchen was a huge plus. I would certainly recommend this property.

Lovely cottage in the most wonderful setting. The view from the kitchen window couldn't be bettered while the view from the front onto an old barn across the farmyard was equally as picturesque . So much rain on our trip but the cottage was warm and inviting with a log burning stove.
