Set within the fringes of a traditional village, this hand crafted Norwegian style lodge is the perfect base for family and friends to enjoy a great holiday whatever the time of year.

The small village of Clearwell is peacefully tucked into the valley, though small the village has a bustling community and is well served offering three village inns and restaurants. A great base for family holidays with both the Forest of Dean and Wye valley to explore. A haven for thrill seekers with rock climbing and canoeing available at Symonds Yat, Go Ape at Mallards Pike and mountain biking for all abilities throughout the Forest of Dean and the Black Mountains across the Welsh Border. Also well served for traditional family fun with Puzzle Wood, Perrygrove Railway, The Sculpture Trail and Clearwell caves all within easy reach. For a little history there are many castles to include, Goodrich, Raglan and Tintern Abbey.

This Norwegian style lodge offers a friendly welcome, the wooden framed storm porch to the rear is your main entrance and the perfect place for muddy wellies after a day’s exploring. The inviting hallway with a solid wooden frame gives access to a kitchen/diner finished with the owners eclectic style and well-equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine and for dining and catching up with friends a table and chairs set within the room. Further down the hall a cosy lounge finished beautifully with a clever mix of natural colours and wood, the double doors open onto a covered porch where you are able to extend the evenings in the summer months.  There is a bathroom with shower over bath and WC, on the ground floor. And when the night draws in climb the wooden stairs where you will find two bedrooms, a double and a twin both finished with warm and inviting colours and style. An occasional bed is availble for additional small children which fits perfectly into the twin bedroom. There is a shower room with WC on this floor.

Outside the lodge is a lawned area, there is seating available within the covered porch overlooking the lawn. There is bicycle storage and ample off-road parking.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Stank Farm Lodge is a lovely, cozy, comfy place. The lodge is super clean and modern, with a well equipped kitchen, comfy beds and a great shower. Kids have plenty of space to play - in the house, the garden or the play ground just opposite the drive. There is lots to do for families in the area too. We will definitely be back!

Great setting and the local area is lovely. Bedrooms very comfy and the property was clean. Lovely dog friendly local pub - The Butchers Arms.
