The small village of Staunton stands proudly at the brow of the hill before you decend into Monmouthshire, the village has a bustling community and is well served with a traditional village inn. This Area of  Outstanding Natural Beauty is surrounded by countryside with well waymarked paths that will guide you through some breath-taking scenery from your door step with the Meend a circular walk with moorland ponies and views across to Brecon. Symonds Yat rock is also walkable through the historic woodland with a lunch at the Saracens Head and for a little more adventure outdoors there is also canoeing and rock climbing from Symonds Yat. A visit to Puzzle Wood and Clearwell caves is also highly recommended.

Your journey starts at the garden gate of this picturesque Grade II listed cottage, a simple porch covers the pale green door, and as you step inside you will be welcomed by the both classic and timeless interior of the kitchen/diner. Simply brimming with character and original features to include the exposed beams and fire place with a mantle hosting a colourful selection of jugs. The dining area with a traditional table and school room chairs enhanced by the simple arm chair and farm house dresser, the original windows offer views onto the front gardens and when the evening draws in you can simply close the original wooden shutters. The kitchen boasts the same traditional style though well–equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. And when dinner is done step down into the lounge for a cosy evening with family or friends, light the wood burner and enjoy a movie on the TV/DVD, or for summer evenings simply open the French doors onto a private courtyard. When it’s time for bed, climb the stairs where you will find a room fit for a king with an ornate four poster bedroom. There is also a bathroom with claw foot bath and WC on this floor. Heading up to the second floor there is a double bedroom with additional day bed with stunning views onto the valley with en-suite shower room and WC.

This stunning cottage has two enclosed cottage gardens, you can enjoy the sun throughout the day with a garden with seating accessed off the lounge, and a further simple garden is accessed via the dining area with seating. There is off-road parking for two cars.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

SLEEPS: There are two bedrooms, one with a king-size four-poster bed, the other with one double bed and an additional day bed. Bed linen is provided for your stay.

RELAXING: Electric and central heating and Wi-Fi is included for your stay.

COOKING & DINING: There is an electrical oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

KEEPING CLEAN: There is one first floor bathroom with claw foot bath and WC, and an en-suite shower room with WC on the second floor. Towels are provided for your stay.

OUTSIDE: Outside there are two pretty gardens with outdoor seating. There is off-road parking available for two cars.

PETS: Two dogs are welcome at this property.

This cottage was amazing everything to make youre stay comfortable. Perfect location and local pub serves delicious food dogs welcome the only thing that could had made our holiday better was the weather.
