Set in 30 acres of the owners’ grounds, this property enjoys a peaceful location with an abundance of walks on its doorstep. The small hamlet of Wincle is home to the Ship Inn, a family friendly pub serving locally sourced dishes. The property sits just five miles down the road from Sutton, where guests can collect groceries and supplies for their stay.

The property is accessed into the spacious kitchen area, which is open plan to the sitting and dining areas. The kitchen is extremely modern, with sleek white units, a marble top, slate floor and striking red splash back tiles. In contrast, the sitting area reflects this property’s history, with exposed ceiling beams, oak floor and large inglenook fireplace with log burning stove. A large oak dining table sits in the centre of this room, enjoying views through the French windows. A ground floor cloakroom with utility amenities complete this floor.

Upstairs, the two bedrooms both have king size wrought iron beds and stunning en-suite shower rooms. They have been decorated in a charming rustic style with white washed floorboards and furniture, creating a calming space

Excellent country walks can be taken from the doorstep, which include footpaths through the grounds and beyond. .

This converted barn is a perfect home from home and the owners made us feel very welcome. Comfortable, well equipped, great views all around and only a 5 minute walk from the very good local pub. We will return!

Lovely area, great pub at the end of the drive, friendly owners, great facilities (TV, WiFi etc), very clean and modern. The home cooked cake awaiting us on arrival was a very nice touch. :-)

Amazing everything it advertised and more , people everywelcoming , home away from home , the little touches like fresh milk , eggs and butter with the cake to welcome you was what made it that more of a relaxed holiday . We are coming back again . Recommend to everything one to try it out .

If you like beautiful peak district scenery, a quiet location and the opportunity to do a bit of walking then look no further than the Otters Retreat. Refurbished to a very high standard with high quality fittings a modern fitted kitchen and a cosy, welcoming ambience, the cottage was a great place to spend a week unwinding. I would recommend this Read morecottage any day of the week. It is rare that I would want to return to the same place but this property is the exception - I'll be back! Hide

A wonderful cottage in a beautiful setting. Ian and Angela were brilliant hosts, we had everything we could have wanted there. The cottage has been decorated and furnished to a really high standard and we would very much like to visit again!

Otters Retreat is a beautiful property and the owners are very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. Highly recommended if you want somewhere spacious, comfortable and peaceful, with many walks from the doorstep. I have actually written a detailed review on Trip Advisor as this property is amazing and is one of the best we have stayed at to date.
