Located in the beautiful village of Hognaston, 4 1/2 miles from the market town of Ashbourne, the property is ideally situated to explore the Carsington water area and all it has to offer (walking, cycling, sailing watersports, fishing and wildlife). It provides easy access to the Peak District and popular destinations of Ilam, Dovedale and Tissington; popular local market towns of Ashbourne and Bakewell; the stately homes of Chatsworth House, Keddleston Hall and Haddon Hall and all the fun of Alton Towers. The friendly Red Lion Pub in Hognaston provides tasty meals (lunch and evening) and drinks.

Jo was lovely and welcoming. The pub was fantastic great food especially. Cottage was cosy and warm but you definitely need a car as nearest shop in a 10-15 minute drive. Happily stay there again!!! -Stephen and Rachel

Comfortable, well equipped and nicely situated. Lots of walks around, and easy drive to many places of interest - Tissington, Dove Dale, Bakewell, Matlock etc

Fabulous cottage for two, cosy and really well situated for walking and scenic beauty, also brilliant that you are right next door to the pub which does fabulous food (but recommend booking!)

Bag End - Peak What a delightful cottage with well equipped kitchen! Very grateful for the milk and wine! We have had a wonderful stay, people around are friendly and helpful. Most impressed me is the natural beauty of Carsington Water which is not far from the cottage, had walked on the dam in Millfield, very enjoyable!
