Description

Property code: PK617

Nestled in the heart of the Peak District National Park, this cottage is a Grade II listed property that’s situated in the pretty village of Foolow complete with its own traditional village green and duck pond.

Enjoying a delightful village position with many of the Peak District’s attractions on the doorstep, the cottage is a great base from which to explore this beautiful area. The nearby Bretton Edge is a great spot for the far-reaching views across the valley floor and the traditional field patterns that are common on this part of the Peaks. Guests can relax and enjoy the gliders at nearby Hucklow Edge, or visit the fascinating historical plague village of Eyam.

Part of the owner’s main house, the cottage is entered via the spacious lounge-dining area that boasts lovely wooden floors that give this room a wonderful feeling of warmth and character. Up two steps to the kitchen which is equipped with all the essential guests require during their stay, the kitchen has exposed wood beams which add to the countryside charm of the room.

A flight of steep open stone steps lead up to the bedroom which has a double bed and a beautiful vaulted ceiling with exposed beams that makes this room a wonderful place for falling asleep in the peaceful serenity of the countryside. On this floor there is also a compact en-suite shower room with shower cubicle, hand basin and toilet.

Outside there is a small garden seating area situated across the road from the cottage which overlooks the quaint village green and duck pond. This a great property for those looking to enjoy the goings on of village life and the many attractions of the Peak District. Foolow village has its own highly rated family run pub just a short walk away from the cottage.

Perfect cottage with a friendly owner next door and a magnificent area around it, providing one of the best short breaks I’ve had for a long time.

A lovely cottage in a very pretty village. The cottage is small but has everything you need and very nicely furnished. A very good pub a few minute’s walk away. A good base for exploring that part of the Peak District.

This is a delightful little cottage in the lovely village of Foolow. Its location is ideal for exploring the Derbyshire Dales as well as Chesterfield, Ashbourne, Chatsworth and Hardwick, Buxton and more! The village has an excellent pub just a couple of minutes walk away, although shops are a little further. The owners live next door and are really friendly and helpful. I'd happily return for another visit.

This Cottage was absolutely fantastic. It had everything, a proper home from home. The owner lives next door and they are so friendly and helpful. You can park outside the property but as it's onto the road we chose to park just across the way by the village green which I felt was safer. It is a great location for visiting the surrounding areas (Buxton, Heights of Abraham, Chatsworth House and Castleton (Caverns), just outside Buxton you can hire bikes and do the Monsal Trail. Fab Place!

Great little cottage full of character, Foolow is in a great location near many key places in tbe Peak District, and the Bull's Head just 1 minute walk away is absolutely fabulous - friendly staff and clientele and amazing food. Steep stone steps inside, so not recommended for toddlers, but a travel cot was provided for our three month old baby. Take a travel cot mattress, as only the basic mattress was included! Fully fitted kitchen, washing machine and dishwasher included. Great place to stay!
