Nestled in the heart of the Peak District National Park, this cottage is a Grade II listed property that’s situated in the pretty village of Foolow complete with its own traditional village green and duck pond.

Enjoying a delightful village position with many of the Peak District’s attractions on the doorstep, the cottage is a great base from which to explore this beautiful area. The nearby Bretton Edge is a great spot for the far-reaching views across the valley floor and the traditional field patterns that are common on this part of the Peaks. Guests can relax and enjoy the gliders at nearby Hucklow Edge, or visit the fascinating historical plague village of Eyam.

Part of the owner’s main house, the cottage is entered via the spacious lounge-dining area that boasts lovely wooden floors that give this room a wonderful feeling of warmth and character. Up two steps to the kitchen which is equipped with all the essential guests require during their stay, the kitchen has exposed wood beams which add to the countryside charm of the room.

A flight of steep open stone steps lead up to the bedroom which has a double bed and a beautiful vaulted ceiling with exposed beams that makes this room a wonderful place for falling asleep in the peaceful serenity of the countryside. On this floor there is also a compact en-suite shower room with shower cubicle, hand basin and toilet.

Outside there is a small garden seating area situated across the road from the cottage which overlooks the quaint village green and duck pond. This a great property for those looking to enjoy the goings on of village life and the many attractions of the Peak District.

This Cottage was absolutely fantastic. It had everything, a proper home from home. The owner lives next door and they are so friendly and helpful. You can park outside the property but as it's onto the road we chose to park just across the way by the village green which I felt was safer. It is a great location for visiting the surrounding areas (BuRead morexton, Heights of Abraham, Chatsworth House and Castleton (Caverns), just outside Buxton you can hire bikes and do the Monsal Trail. Great little cottage full of character, Foolow is in a great location near many key places in tbe Peak District, and the Bull's Head just 1 minute walk away is absolutely fabulous - friendly staff and clientele and amazing food. Steep stone steps inside, so not recommended for toddlers, but a travel cot was provided for our three month old baby. TaRead moreke a travel cot mattress, as only the basic mattress was included! Fully fitted kitchen, washing machine and dishwasher included. Great place to stay! Hide

Just home after a relaxing few days at Lea Cottage. A lovely cottage in a pretty village with a good pub with great food, just a few steps away. Well positioned for getting around the Peak District. No hesitation in recommending.

Bijou cottage in a charming village, well situated at the edge of the white peaks. Hosts next door were welcoming & friendly. Nice pubs either 30 secs away or 15mins walk uphill! A delightful cosy cottage in an attractive small village perfectly situated for walking or as a base for day tripping. Louise, the cottage owner made us feel very welcome. We had a very relaxing week and would definitely recommend Lea Cottage for a quiet break.

A lovely quirky cottage with everything you need for a relaxing week away. Great location in a quiet village but close to attractions such as Chatsworth & Haddon Hall. Louise is lovely and nothing is too much trouble. Hope we get to visit again soon...loved it.
