The cottage is not big enough for 4 people. There was plenty of space for us as a couple with a dog, but the concept of pulling out a mattress from beneath the bed in the second bderoom is not viable. Overall, the cottage provides a good base to explore the local area. Many useful books and maps are provided.

Little Cottage is in a wonderful location. Only a few minutes walk away from a very well stocked village shop, two pubs and the church. A small but well designed cottage with a secure garden ideal for a dog and to sit out and enjoy a glass of wine.

The best equipped holiday cottage we have had. Excellent small grassed area for the dog and a delightful sheltered patio area to sit in the evenings. Everyone we met was helpful and friendly. Very good general grocers about 100 yards away. Good location for walks.

The cottage is in a really good location. You can walk to Bakewell in about 20 minutes. There are plenty of local walks. Pub and local shop within a very short walk, 2-3 minutes. My sons went rock climbing and loads of crags nearby and indoor climbing in Sheffield about 30 minutes away. Cottage is lovely. It has well equipped kitchen and is really Read morewarm (stayed at end of March) and comfortable. Quiet village but everybody friendly. Would definitely recommend. Hide

Nice quant little cottage ideal for two. The village is great and very picturesque, the furniture all seemed pre owned, dated and worn, for the money it could do with a serious facelift. We still had a great time exploring the area and very well located

Beautifull little cottage in a picture postcard village ideally placed close to 2 village pubs. The black bull is a lovely traditional pub serving real ale with an open fire, highly recommended. The cottage is close to many walks and also within walking distance of the Monsal Trail. The cottage will sleep 3 comfortably, 4 may be a bit cramped. A lovely little cottage perfectly suited to its name and for our 3 day break. Essential to us was that dogs are welcome, even if the garden is small. As well as 2 labradors we were 2 adults + a teenager. Any more than 3 people would be a bit of a squash, but we were very happy. Ashford is delightful and a good walking base.

Little cottage is lovely, although two bedrooms, would be a bit cramped for family of four. Was ideal for my husband,me and our dog. Fully equipped, and in a lovely village with walks from the door step and close to 'Bakewell' and other towns and villages, also 'Chatsworth house'. Would highly recommend.

Location was good for us but Hill Cross very steep. Cottage more suited to 2 or 3 people. Kitchen well equiped but otherwise felt it was expensive for what it was although there was adequate heating and hot water. WiFi patchy. Village is lovely, very picturesque. Pub great, real heart of the village with lovely food although not always available.
