Large comfortable cottage near the Monsal Trail. Not far from places of interest - Buxton and Bakewell as well as Chatsworth Estate and Haddon Hall. Good size bedrooms and bathrooms as well as dining room and large country style kitchen. The weather was good during our holiday so were able to sit outside in the various seating areas to enjoy meals Read moreand a glass of wine. Parking a little difficult at the property if using several cars between the two houses. Good pubs in local villages. Hide

Couldnt give the location 5 stars because of tight parking and proximity to road. Nice little garden.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mill View House, the property was very comfortable and was well equipped. The only downside was the road outside which was busier than we expected and quite noisy (we did attempt to walk to the local pub, but without a footpath all the way , changed our minds). On the bright side, the road did make it easy to get arounRead mored by car, with both Bakewell and Buxton being very close. Hide

What a wonderful cottage for a family get-together with our son and wife from Boston MA, a son and wife from Australia and my husband and I from Australia. We were all charmed with the age and decoration of the house and the overall space was perfect for us. Could not have been improved upon.

We had an excellent week and I can't fault any aspect of the spacious house which was our home for a week at all. From the well-equipped kitchen and comfy lounge with a much appreciated log burner after a day out walking to the supremely comfortable beds and always enough hot water. Brilliant location and definitely recommended.

Mill View House is a very comfortable and well equipped holiday cottage. It is close to the Monsal Trail so excellent for walking but sadly it is also close to the B6049 so does suffer from traffic noise.

Reviewed by Mike, 8th March 2019

There is a lot of space including a downstairs loo (not mentioned on the website) which is useful. The stairs are quite steep, which is not so good for the elderly. The local pub is nice, as is Bakewell and local villages. The owners only provide three toilet rolls (1 per loo) and a few logs, so bring/buy more.

This is a lovely and homely cottage and is ideally placed for the Peak District. Being next to the cycle path (Monsail Trial) was amazing.

lovely comfortable cottage with lots of character and pretty little gardens , near a nice pub but no shops in village. Nice walks nearby. Some road noise noted , parking a bit awkward
