A charming barn nestled in the centre of the historic Peak District village of Eyam. This property has various local amenities on the doorstep, including the village pub that’s just 200 yards from the door.

This ancient stone barn, enjoys a lovely position in the heart of a village in the spectacular landscape of the Peak District. The village is famous as a ‘plague village,’ one of the areas that went into voluntary quarantine during the plague of 1655. Many of the old village buildings retain their original features giving the village an enchanting, historical feel. The nearby Eyam Moor offers wonderful walks and far-reaching views across the Derwent Valley. After guests have worked up an appetite out on the moors, they can head back to the local village pub, the Miners Arms for a spot of recuperation. For those seeking culture, a short drive takes guests to the impressive country houses of Chatsworth and Haddon hall.

The property benefits from underfloor heating throughout the ground floor and embraces open plan living. The spacious living area has a stone fireplace with electric effect wood burning stove and exposed wood beams that add to the room’s character. The dining area is a lovely space for entertaining.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms. Sloping, part vaulted ceilings provide a wonderful country chic to the rooms. The largest of the three bedrooms is the master, and has an impressive arched window which frames the captivating views of the village and Eyam Edge. The bedroom contains a super king size bed and also has its own en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath, toilet and hand basin. The second bedroom is a delightful twin bedroom which can be made into a super king bed if requested at the time of booking, benefiting from a large feature window which overlooks the courtyard. The bedroom also has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet and hand basin. The final bedroom is a good size twin bedroom which can be made into a super king bed if requested at the time of booking, with an en-suite shower room with a shower, toilet and hand basin.

Outside there is a sheltered courtyard which makes a great spot for a BBQ and al fresco dining.

Lovely cottage in a great location. Very pleased with everything there - it is only a short walk to the local pub (excellent food served there), local people so friendly, small shop close by and walking from the cottage so easy. For days out in the car it is within easy reach of so many towns and tourist attractions should you wish. Lovely location in pretty and characterful village. Three very good size en-suite bedrooms and good size kitchen, lounge and dining area. Plenty of off road parking too (for 2 cars). Cottage was tidy/clean. Location great for heading north and south in the Peaks. Would definitely recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage. It is in a great position, beautifully furnished and well equipped. As a party of six people, the three en suites were a real plus. Great hosts and very welcoming. Thoroughly recommended!

There were 6 adults and the spacious cottage was just what we expected. It's thick walls meant we could sing as loud as we wanted without disturbing anyone. We sent one of our group outside to check! Well equipped, spacious and comfortable. Enormous beds!! Good central location for access to the peak district with good walks from the front door. Nice pub 3 mins walk away or for a bit of variety, a 5 min drive to Foolow. We liked the cottage and location so much that we have booked in for next year.
