Whaley Bridge, or the Gateway to the Goyt Valley, is an attractive small town located on the edge of the Peak District National Park. At the head of the Peak Forest Canal, the area boasts pretty walks and cycle paths along the water towards Bridgemount and Buxworth. There is also an array of pubs, restaurants and cafes to choose from so you can stock up for your stay.

A gallery hall welcomes you into the property, from which a flight of stairs leads you to the first floor. To your right is the inviting sitting room, featuring wooden floors, exposed beams and stonework, warm tones and a large picture window taking in the beautiful view. Also on this floor are two of the bedrooms, one with an impressive four poster double bed and interesting exposed stone wall, the other with twin beds. These rooms share a shower room with colourful mosaic tiles.

Downstairs you will find the spacious kitchen, which features a farmhouse style dresser, large dining table, tiled floor and all the essentials you should need for your stay. The kitchen also benefits from a door leading outside, while the separate dining room next door is perfect for evening meals. Two further bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with twin beds, plus a second bathroom, complete this floor.

Outside, the shared patio area enjoys sunshine for most of the day and has a secure pretty ornamental pond – the perfect spot to enjoy an al fresco drink. If you're travelling in a large group, why not book both cottages to accommodate 16 people in total?

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Beautiful cottage in a perfect location. It is close to the mines of Castleton and the Dark Peak. The cottage was a perfect size for us.

Absolutely dog friendly! Comfortable property, wonderful bedrooms and comfy beds. Very clean. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely walks near property. Supermarket 5 mins drive.

The location is fabulous for walks from the door. there is only one shower and one bath. This caused us some issues with 8 adults. We ate at The Swan in Kettleshulme; go. It is fabulous. We had a party for 60th birthday and with the cottage next door it was just ideal.

Cottage is lovely and cosy. Mrs Hinchcliffe is very nice and helpful. Definitely planning another visit next year. Kids had a great time and loved the piano and games that were there.
