Nestled amidst five acres of gardens, the cottage offers a great base for exploring some of the main attractions of the Peak District, including impressive country houses and areas of outstanding natural beauty.

The cottage is a wonderful property for walkers looking to explore the surrounding landscape. Some of the most popular walking and outdoor sports areas in the Peak District are close by, including Curbar Edge, Calver Edge and Stanage Edge. Bakewell is close by with its quaint shops, also the historical spa town of Buxton has a theatre, an opera house and show caverns to wow day trippers.

The 17th century cottage adopts an open-plan layout with a spectacular kitchen/diner and lounge area that has exposed stone walls that create a wonderful sense of warmth and character. The rural-style kitchen is complete with all the essentials including a Rayburn. The lounge area has a log burning stove which provides a focal point to the main living space that also boasts exposed beams that add to its charm.

Upstairs there is a cosy mezzanine bedroom with a double bed. The exposed wood beam ceiling creates an enchanting atmosphere for the lovely cottage bedroom. The property has a bathroom which consists of a bath, hand-held shower, and hand basin. Outside there are five acres of gardens which include a Japanese garden, an orchard, a kitchen garden and a pond. Chickens wander freely in the grounds, adding to the country charm of this delightful property. Seasonal food from the gardens can be pre-ordered.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Please note there is a refundable £100 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

Wonderful garden grounds full of nature, swallows, buzzards, dragonflies, beautiful cottage, lots great walks/runs from the door in a lovely part of Peak District National Park and nearby. I thought might be too hot in scortching weather but it was fine:) Tiny things- WiFi inside the cottage would have been nice, and a big coffee pot and really bigRead more cooking pan, shower a bit tricky. We had an utterly wonderful stay in the cottage. The location is beautiful and allows for lots of walks and drives right on your doorstep, as well as a great local pub. The cottage itself is also gorgeous, and decorated/maintained to perfection with everything you need for a wonderful stay. Everything was clean and access was easy. What a beautiful cottage! The Rayburn makes it so warm and cosy inside. It's in a perfect location for visiting Matlock, Bakewell and Sheffield. Complete relaxation. We really didn't want to leave!
