An enchanting property nestled amidst the natural beauty of the Peak District National Park. The Irishman’s is a wonderful place from which to enjoy the many attractions of this beautiful area.

Situated in the grounds of the owner’s property, the cottage is a romantic idyll of calm and tranquillity in the outstanding beauty of the Peak District. The cottage is a short drive from the pretty village of Castelton, and nearby groceries are available at Chapel en le Frith which is just two miles away. The challenging walking trails of the Pennine Way await for keen walkers, or for those who prefer a more relaxing stay, sit and enjoy the wildlife that surrounds the cottage. The historical spa town of Buxton is nearby and great for an evening of culture at the opera house or strolling along the Georgian Crescent.

The bedroom of the cottage is full of character from the stone floors and oak beam ceilings. The bedroom contains a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower cubicle, hand basin and toilet. A few steps lead into the bright, open plan living space. The kitchen is well equipped with all the essentials that guests require during their stay. The lounge area has a wood burning stove which provides an inviting ambience to the space and a vaulted ceiling gives height and charm. A large glazed panel door leads out to the patio area that’s enclosed by a dry stone wall. The seating area enjoys afternoon and evening sunshine, making it an ideal space for sitting out and listening to the evening chorus of the surrounding wildlife.

Guests are welcome to wander over to the paddocks where the owners’ horses and alpacas graze. If you’re travelling in a larger party, why not book all four cottages at this location to accommodate 16 people in total.

Irishman's cottage is small, simply furnished but very tasteful, we would definitely stay again even though the weather was rather wet. If you enjoy the great outdoors then this is the place to go.

Well placed with friendly but not intrusive owners. Ideal for two and a dog.

The cottage is perfect for couples with or without dogs. We took our dogs and the layout of the upside down cottage is not just practice with its stone floor, the veiws from the upper storey in the lounge/kitchen are beautiful. The cottage is well equipped and extremely comfortable and warm. It's ideal for walkers also close to Castleton and chapelRead more le Thrifte. Hide
