An idyllic, hideaway for couples found at the edge of Upper Brailes within walking distance of some fine amenities including a French bakery.

This holiday property is very cosy and comfortable. A former blacksmith’s, it is now a lovely detached cottage at the centre of Brailles village. Upper Brailes is a characterful village with some fabulous walks originating from it. Visit the village website and consult Jim’s Walks which details up to ten different circular walks – most of these walks are dog friendly. Further afield, visit Banbury and Stratford-upon-Avon for shopping and sightseeing, and the RSC theatre is also within reasonable driving distance. The ancient market town of Shipston-on-Stour is great for antique shops, local pubs and eateries.

On arrival at the holiday property you will find a spacious entrance hall. The lounge/kitchen/diner design embraces open-plan living. The lounge area has a comfortable seating, a TV/DVD, and a wood burner to keep the room warm and cosy in the evenings. The kitchen area comes equipped with a combination oven and grill, tow electric hobs, a microwave, a fridge/freezer (inside a cupboard in the entrance hall), a small freezer box and a utility room. Use of a washing machine can be arranged. The bedroom contains a king-size zip-and-link bed (which can be made up as twin singles on request). There is an en-suite shower room with WC for convenience too.

Outside is a south-facing courtyard that can be an effective sun-trap, and is also ideal for that evening glass or two of wine, creating a great space for you to relax in the comfort of your own holiday home. There’s ample parking too.

  • 1 bedroom – 1 king-size zip-and-link (which can be made up as a twin)

This cottage is small and on a main village road with constant traffic noise. Kitchen is not well equipped. Lounge is small and cramped. If you like very small and cosy and dont mind traffic noise then it maybe for you. Wasnt for us.

A lovely convertion ideal for 2 people. If you like walking it's ideal with local routes way marked, so you can mix and match the walks from the local map that was provided. 2 local pubs within a mile both serving food.

We had a very warm welcome and arrangement made for delivery of our Telegraph. A wood burner which was installed would be great in the late autumn and early spring. The location was ideal for the many National Trust properties in easy driving distance.

We visited Barnforge as our last holiday as a couple before we have our first child. I was slightly concerned before we arrived that everything would be okay due to my partner being so heavily pregnant. When we turned up I was really happy to find a lovely, clean and comfortable cottage. The bed is huge and comfy and we slept brilliantly every nighRead moret. We would definitely consider staying here again if we have a trip to the Cotswolds in future. Hide
