Stylish cottage located in the beautiful Shropshire Hills surrounded by rolling countryside, and yet just three miles from the attractive foodie haven of Ludlow.

This property enjoys a fantastic countryside location in South Shropshire, with miles of country walks accessible directly from the front door. The area around the property has many lovely villages to discover, many of which have welcoming country pubs. If food is your thing, then this cottage is in a fantastic location thanks to its proximity to Ludlow, which lies just three miles away. Famed for its annual food festival, the town remains a popular foodie destination all year round, thanks to its numerous well-regarded eateries, many of which specialise in local produce. The town is also home to a good range of shops, as well as to Ludlow Castle, a medieval fort which dates back more than 900 years, Clee Hill is a short drive away from the property which boasts stunning views.

On entering this attractive cottage, guests will immediately gain a sense of just how much time and love has been put into creating a welcoming holiday home. The open-plan kitchen/diner not only offers a great place to enjoy meals together, but is also well-equipped with an electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge, larder cupboard, drinks cooler and dishwasher, plus a beautiful dining table and chairs to seat up to six people. The washing machine , freezer and tumble dryer, meanwhile, can be found in a separate laundry room, which is housed in a separate building just next to the cottage. Moving on from the kitchen/diner, guests will come to the delightful lounge, where they are able to relax in front of the cosy wood burner and catch up on their favourite TV programmes, or perhaps enjoy a DVD. This room leads through to a snug which can be used as an additional bedroom for up to two people, for parties exceeding four guests. There is also a convenient cloakroom with WC located on the ground floor. Stairs lead from the dining area up to the first-floor accommodation, where there are two bedrooms: one of these is a restful king-size room, whilst the other is a pleasant twin room (which can be made up as a super-king-size on request), both of which benefit from en-suite facilities, one with a bath, rainfall shower with hand-held shower and WC, the other with a rainfall shower , hand held shower head and WC.

Outside, there is a sheltered courtyard with garden furniture which makes a wonderful place to enjoy al fresco meals. There is off-road parking provided. There is also access to the owners fields just off the property, dogs must not worry the Livestock if they are in the fields.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Re our holiday at Caynham Forge (East Barn) we could write lots but will just say it was the BEST self-catering accommodation we have ever had, in a beautiful setting and two of the nicest owners (Alison and Keith) we have ever dealt with!

East Barnhas been beautifully renovated to a very high standard. It felt like a home for home with all the creature comforts you could wish for. We like staying outside the cities/towns, when holidaying, as we find it more peaceful and relaxing and Caynham didn't disappoint in that respect. However Ludlow is only a few miles away so it's an easy trRead moreip into town whenever you need to. Shropshire is a lovely county with lots to see and do. We will definitely stay at East Barn again when we decide to explore some more. Hide

We have nothing but positive feedback about East Barn. I actually tried to leave feedback on trip advisor but it couldn't seem to find 'East Barn'. The cottage was absolutely beautiful. Very well appointed with lots of lovely touches. The owners were extremely helpful. Don't think I've ever slept in a more comfortable bed! We have just returned from a wonderful 11 night stay at East Barn. We cannot speak highly enough about this property. It is well situated for visiting this lovely area of Shropshire and Herefordshire.Something for everyone. It is a fantastic conversion of an old Forge completed to a very high standard. It is warm and cosy at all times. All the fixRead moretures and fittings are top quality, as are the furnishings. Very comfortable beds with lovely crisp white bed linen. The en suite bathroom and shower room are really appreciated, as is the downstairs loo. Every convenience in the kitchen with plenty of crockery, glasses, pots and pans etc, etc. A separate laundry room. A very comfortable spacious lounge with a little snug off it, ideal for when one of us wanted to watch TV and the other wanted to read. For us the main feature of the lounge was thefantastic log fire, so easy to light and very efficient. A generous supply of dry logs and kindling, fire lighters and paper. The owners really have put a lot of thought into the fitting out of this cottage and they have supplied so many thoughtful extra touches, the floor lighting on the stairs, the beautiful wooden blinds and many others too numerous to mention.Everything we could possibly need was supplied. Having stayed in numerous holiday lets over 40 years, it really does stand out as one of the best places we have stayed in.When choosing a holiday property we have a check list of our requirements, East Barn ticks all the boxes and more. We booked with the agent over the phone. He was very helpful and efficient. It was good that he knew the property and was able to answer a couple of queries I had. We received prompt confirmation of the booking and the owner quickly got in touch with location details etc.They were easy to follow and for once we didnt get lost and found the property very easily. So many owners do not give easy to follow instructions. When I contacted her by phone she was very helpful and friendly,suggesting we could enter the property early on the arrival day and leave later on the leaving day. This was very helpful and much appreciated. We would like to say a very big THANK YOU for giving us the opportunity to stay in this gem of a find .
