Peacefully tucked into the hillside with spectacular views over Ludlow and the surrounding farmland, this sympathetically restored barn is just perfect for family and friends to enjoy whatever the time of year.

Enjoy the best of both worlds, you may not wish to leave this peaceful hillside location on the edge of a beautiful forest, however you are just a very short distance from Ludlow, a thriving market town and an architectural gem, situated on a cliff above the River Teme and is surrounded by the countryside of South Shropshire, busy throughout the year with events and festivals celebrating good food, arts, crafts, theatre, walking and the showcase for this being the Ludlow Food and Drink Festival held every September. For keen walkers enjoy the Mary Webb trail, The Shropshire Way and Offa’s Dyke are both within easy reach and for day tripping take why not visit Stokesay castle, Wenlock Priory and Severn valley railway. The famous hay festival is only a 40 minute drive - a literary delight in May and June.

Your journey to the barn starts off-grid enjoying views across the surrounding farm land, and at the brow of the hill you will be welcomed by the beauty of the barn. Kick off your boots and step into the dining room where the stone floors with under floor heating and exposed staircase will simply take your breath away, the dining table and chairs provided are the perfect props for any dinner party or simple Sunday lunch. Pass on through to the lounge, the cosy seating area warmed with a wood burner is great for a movie night in front of the TV/DVD or game of cards. Steps up into the kitchen with a centre island and wooden benches for friends to gather and enjoy a glass of wine. Well-equipped with two eye level electric ovens and hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer with ice maker and dishwasher. The utility room with WC and washing machine is also on this floor, and when the sun sets and it’s time to rest you will find a twin bedroom on this floor too. Follow the main staircase where you will find two bedrooms, one super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made into a twin on request) with en-suite shower over bath and WC and one king-size with en-suite bathroom with shower and WC. Follow the smaller staircase where you will find one double and en-suite bathroom with stylish slipper bath, separate shower and WC.

Take a step outside and enjoy the sunrise across the countryside, the landscaped grounds with large patio area is great for entertaining with table, chairs and BBQ.  And for summer evenings watching the stars follow the steps down to the snug carved into the hillside and enjoy the warmth of the kadai fire pit with all of the accompanyments. There is ample off-road parking

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

SLEEPS: There are four bedrooms, one with a super-king-size zip-and-link bed, one with a king-size bed, one with a double bed, and a twin bedroom whichis located on the ground floor. RELAXING: Electric and central heating and Wi-Fi is included.

COOKING & DINING: There are two eye-level electric ovens and a hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher. There is also a washing machine in the utility room.

KEEPING CLEAN: With a total of three en-suite bathrooms there’s plenty to go round. Two are on the first floor, one with a shower and WC, the other with a shower over bath and WC. The handy additional en-suite shower room with shower, bath and WC is off the double bedroom, and there is a separate WC in the utility room. Towels are provided for your stay.

OUTSIDE: Outside is ample garden space with outdoor seating, a BBQ and a fire pit. There is plenty of off-road parking available.

PETS: One dog is welcome at this property.

Fabulous barn, plenty of space for everyone inside and out. Beautifully furnished, a kitchen which had everything. Jack's Barn is a delightful, isolated very well equipped, very warm and comfortable haven of peace and tranquility. The surrounding fields and views stretch for miles. Karen is a very warm & thoughtful but discreet host who is on hand if necessary. Situated at the end of the barn is a small detached stone cottage where Karen's son lives, otherwise Read morethe barn has no near neighbours and is approached via a long track over the fields. Thank you so much for having us. The cottage was perfect for 4 couples to celebrate the New Year in. Jacks barn was amazingly decorated and spotlessly clean. The town was close enough to walk too but the barn was secluded enough not to worry about our load celebrations. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and the well equipped kitchen for ouRead morer very own come dine with me evenings. This is a wonderful property, which is perfectly situated for visiting both Shropshire and Herefordshire, with stunning views. The cottage is extremely well equipped.

A beautiful property in a stunning setting. All equipment provided for any occasion. Underfloor heating very good and kept us cosy throughout our stay. We were a party of 7 friends and there was bags of room for us all to potter around and not feel on top of each other.

The cottage is exceptionally clean and well maintained. Good location near to Ludlow with plenty of walks and places to see nearby. The property is spacious with room for everyone even a small room to escape into if you want a bit of peace and quiet. Wonderful views over Ludlow. Outside a BBQ and separate fire pit to enjoy.
