Other places of interest in the area include Clun which is a mile away from the property and boasts its own museum, pubs, shops, cafes and castle as well as the ancient Packhorse Bridge as well festivals through out the year. A little further a field you will find the  town of Ludlow as well as Iron Bridge, and the attractive manor house at Stokesay Castle.

This property is one of two similar properties located at this small holiday complex and can be booked along with Hopton. On entering the cottage, guests first come to the light and airy kitchen/diner, with its dining table to seat six and farmhouse-style units. Guests can easily make themselves at home here, as it is well-equipped with an electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, and fridge. (There is use of a washing machine and tumble dryer and large freezer are all available on request). The lounge is also located on the ground floor; it is a homely room with comfortable seating, a cosy open fire, and views across the garden and the neighbouring woodland. There is a TV and DVD here for guests’ enjoyment. There are two useful additions to the ground floor: a cloakroom with WC, and a boot room with a door giving access to the gardens. Upstairs you will find the stairs lead off  to 2 separate areas of the property . The first of these is a restful double room with bathroom next door which has a bath WC, basin and large heated towel rail, there is also a twin room, and a cosy bunk bedroom on the other side of the landing that has a shower and sink. Guests should be aware that due to the style of the property, there are sloping ceilings and some reduced head height in all three bedrooms.

Outside, guests can enjoy the spacious shared gardens which are mainly set to lawn, with some handy picnic tables and benches scattered throughout. Guests also have access to a ten-acre paddock, which has a river running through it. A BBQ can be provided on request. There is ample off road parking.

The cottage at Hurst Mill Farm was a fantastic and peaceful place to spend the new-year. We were able to take our 2 dogs and there was plenty of walking for them to enjoy around the locality. The owners are very friendly and responsive and the cottage warm and comfortable, a nice winter retreat in a lovely setting.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sewdley. The cottage was very clean and comfortable, with everything provided that was needed, eg washing up liquid, cloths, some dishwasher tablets, foil, etc. The open plan kitchen /diner was ideal with the separate lounge being cosy and comfy. There was a stair gate to stop the dog going upstairs and a separate bootRead more room, which was also useful for the dog. The surroundings were very peaceful and pretty and there was plenty to do in the area. I would definitely recommend the cottage to others. Hide
