There are ample opportunities for walking, cycling and even horse riding with the Manifold Trail accessible straight from the door, and the Tissington Trail close by in the Peak District village of Hartington. The popular dramatic rocky outcrop known as The Roaches, long loved by both walkers and climbers alike are within easy reach. The busy market towns of Leek and Ashbourne are both a short drive away, as is Buxton with its famous opera house and stunning Georgian architecture. The Heights of Abraham with unrivalled views and cable car, the ever-popular town of Bakewell, the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth Estate and Haddon Hall, and even Alton Towers Theme Park for thrill seekers, are all within easy reach.
