Crantock is a surfer’s paradise. Not only is the native beach itself a prime spot for both novice and experienced surfers, the village’s prime location near Newquay makes it all the more appealing. The renowned Fistral beach is just around the corner, and the beaches of Porth Joke, Holywell, Lusty Glaze and Perranporth are all just a short distance away. If you’re a beginner, visit Crantock Bay Surf School for lessons or to hire your wetsuit and board.

In neighbouring Newquay, the annual Boardmasters Festival takes place in August, hosting surfing and skating events and hosting live music acts such as Faithless, Calvin Harris and Clean Bandit. This popular event takes place in Watergate Bay, overlooking the stunning beach. Crantock is a perfect holiday destination for families. With endless options for beach days and with Newquay Zoo nearby, you’re guaranteed to find something exciting to do on your visit.

The village’s select few restaurants, pubs and tea rooms offer an eclectic mix of traditional Cornish cuisine with international influences. For a pint of tasty local ale, pop into one of the local pubs, such as The Cornishman.
