Exmouth harbour
Since the 18th century, Exmouth has been a thriving popular seaside destination with its 2 mile long stretch of beautiful golden sandy beach. Also due to its traditional seaside trappings of brightly coloured beach huts, an esplanade and plenty of fish and chip shops, it is a popular destination for taking a family holiday in Devon.
This part of the coast is also part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, meaning you have plenty to see and explore during your stay. When you have chosen one of our Exmouth holiday cottages, try taking a walk from the Marina to Orcombe Point where you’ll discover over 200 million years of Jurassic history and the stunning view of the ocean against the deep red sandstone cliff back drop.
Sandy Bay coast
Exmouth’s idyllic location makes this the perfect centre to explore the unspoilt delights and charms of South Devon, from a golden coastline on one side, to gently rolling hills and green fields the other side.
Take a trip along the esplanade where attractions include Sea and River Trips, Fishing Trips, Beach Gardens, Children’s Rides, Fun Land, Miniature Railway, Crazy Golf, and Putting Green – Ideal for the family, all offering plenty to do when out and about.
"A pretty coastal village with easy access to the city of Exeter"
One of the few seaside towns still with a mainline connection, take a day excursion to local Exeter or Plymouth where you will never run out of things to do! After your day of sunbathing and splashing the cash in the amusements, wind down on the promenade in one of the great pubs, restaurants, cafes, or on a bench with some good old fish and chips. Take a trip to the pavilion with many live shows and entertainment going on into the evening.
To top your holiday off, be sure that you don’t miss the annual Illuminated Carnival where a true sense of colour and culture come together for this extravagant event.
