Louth has an attractive contrast of pretty pantiles and red brick with honey stone houses and a glorious, striking church.
St James' Church is a 500-year-old building with a huge spire standing at almost 300 feet, which creates an imposing yet unique welcome when arriving at the town. The church is still used to this day; its special atmosphere and deep-rooted history appreciated by all those who visit, whilst the view from the top of the tower is awe-inspiring.

The River Lud running through the centre of Louth offers plenty of picturesque picnic spots along its meandering route, as well as a peaceful path to follow on sunny days. Meanwhile, Hubbard's Hills is located on the outskirts of the town; its idyllic valleys and parkland make for stunning surroundings no matter what time of year you visit.
The nearby Lincolnshire Wolds are a must-visit when you're staying in its capital. The rolling emerald hills and sprawling countryside have hidden gems at every turn, from quaint hamlets to the stunning Market Rasen racecourse, not forgetting that the area was also the inspiration for many literary legends including Tennyson.

The array of local producers, independent shops and the thriving leisure facilities such as the theatre and cinema make Louth an appealing destination for some true rest and relaxation. The six butcheries, two greengrocers and cheese shop offer some delicious home-grown goods, alongside traditional shops such as a cobblers and a tailors giving the town a classic English market town feel.
Though it may not be the largest Lincolnshire town, the restaurants in the area offer a huge variety, all beautifully cooked and loved by locals and tourists alike.
