Two miles of golden sands and keeping with British tradition make this small seaside settlement a hit with holidaymakers.

Mablethorpe's wide selection of places to eat dotted along the promenade offer an unbeatable selection with beautiful views, and its close proximity to the picturesque Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty means there's plenty to explore when basing yourself here for a holiday.

The sandy beach is perfect for relaxing on a summer break, a brisk winter walk, or a stroll with your four-legged friend (but do check seasonal restrictions before setting off).

One of the more unique aspects of the area is the sand train, transporting visitors to the northern point of the beach, and allowing you to rest your feet after a long wander along the promenade and through the town.

Queens Park is the ideal place to relax with a drink, with beautifully kept gardens to gaze upon and plenty to keep the kids entertained, including a paddling pool and miniature railway, as well as a boating lake, tennis courts and putting green for the sportier types.

The plethora of amusements and the fairground are sure to be a hit with everyone in your group, channeling a traditional Victorian-era seaside retreat with the classic attractions. Hark back to simpler times as you get lost in the child-like joy of games and an array of dazzling arcade machines.

If you're searching for a more tranquil activity, the Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary and Wildlife Centre offers keeper experiences and a chance to meet a variety of rescued animals including reptiles, birds of prey, meerkats and of course, seals.

For a change of scenery, journey a little further afield to the glorious Lincolnshire Wolds where the picture-perfect landscape continues for miles. The wildlife and flora scattered across the area is diverse and captivating, offering plenty of beautiful walks to embark on during your holiday.

All of the exploring is bound to make you hungry, so head to The Beck for a hearty carvery and large dishes of fantastic food that are sure to fill you up, whilst Lady B's Cupcakery is there for dessert when you've found a bit of extra room, where their famous cheesecake will have you taking some home for later!

Other seaside resorts of Skegness and Grimsby are within easy reach of Mablethorpe, whilst Sutton-on-Sea is just a few miles along the coast.
