Each Tuesday and Saturday the Charter Market fills the marketplace with a variety of items from local producers. Each year the city is home to a spectacular Christmas Market that fills Guildhall Square and the High Street in a stunning festive setting, and comprises of over 70 stalls selling everything from gifts to local produce.

The city also has a buzzing arts and culture scene, with venues such as the Salisbury Playhouse, City Hall and Salisbury Arts Centre hosting an array of events and productions throughout the year. The annual Salisbury International Arts Festival is also another popular event that visitors flock to each year.  

For foodies, there is a wide selection of eateries for a range of different tastes. The city centre has everything from fine restaurants to hearty pubs and charming cafés to whet your appetite. Each year in September, the market place hosts to the annual Salisbury Food and Drink Festival so you can enjoy sample delicious local delights, live music and a friendly community atmosphere.

Salisbury itself sits within Wiltshire’s stunning countryside and the views on surrounding hillsides offer you the chance to admire spectacular sights, with Salisbury Cathedral standing proudly against a luscious green backdrop. If you head to the outer bailey of Old Sarum, a former Iron Age fort just two miles north of the city, this elevated position will give you one of the best views over the landscape and a great day out for the whole family.
