Situated on the most south westerly tip of Lincolnshire, Stamford is a town packed with history, with striking buildings to catch the eye down every street.

Known as 'the finest stone town in England', there are hundreds of buildings that remain unchanged over the last few hundred years, whilst the unique blend of historic architecture, strong community spirit and range of independent boutiques have repeatedly earnt the town as spot in The Times' list of the top places to live in Britain.

The Arts Centre is one of Stamford's most infamous attractions; built in 1768, it has a rich heritage and is one of the oldest provincial theatres in England. The beautiful ballroom plays host to multiple concerts and events to this day, with resident artists exhibiting in the gallery and performances shown regularly in both the cinema and on stage.

If you can spare the dates, the Stamford Georgian Festival is a must-see event. With a carnival atmosphere conveying the spirit of the time, it sees the whole community come together to put on an event like no other with talks, demonstrations and literature all showcased across the weekend.

Another renowned event in the town is the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials, a top equestrian event held within the grounds of the prestigious Burghley House. With many of the world's top horses and their riders in attendance, it's a social and sporting event that is not to be missed.

The weekly Friday market offers a chance to join a bustling community and delight in the local produce and goods available, or for a more refined eating experience, Il Vicolo is a beautiful Italian restaurant with a relaxed ambience and first-class food.

Mediterranean food heads to the forefront of cuisine in Stamford as The Mad Turk and Zada Restaurant both compete as top providers of that particular style. For a stunning interior to gaze upon as you relax, Cosy Club is the perfect destination, with eccentricity meeting classical splendour in a relaxed setting accompanied by a fantastic food and drink menu.
