Holidays in the Lake District

Nestled in the centre of the Lake District and with plenty of holiday cottages with their own hot tub to choose from, Windermere is the perfect place to soak up the stunning surroundings and relax in style. After an exhausting day full of hiking, climbing, canoeing or fishing, there’s nothing better than heading back to your self-catering accommodation to soothe your aching limbs in a warm hot tub whilst enjoying a spot of stargazing. One of England’s most beautiful National Parks, the Lake District is bursting with breathtaking mountains, picturesque lakes and unspoilt countryside, and staying at one the many cottages in Windermere allows you to be within easy reach of many of its highlights.

Lake Windermere is England’s largest lake and has many towns and villages on its shores, such as the bustling Bowness-on-Windermere, with its array of shops, eateries and museums. You can also jump on a river cruise, paddle a kayak or hire a sailing boat to see the lake from a different angle. The area has many links with one of England’s much-loved authors, Beatrix Potter; her home, Hill Top, is in Sawrey and there is a museum and gallery in Hawkshead. Also close by is Grasmere, which is famous for its gingerbread and for being the resting place of William Wordsworth. At the end of a busy day, return to your Windermere cottage with a hot tub, cook up a meal and dive into your hot tub with a glass of your favourite tipple.
