This beautiful holiday cottage, ideally situated in the heart of a picturesque Lake District village, is perfect for families, friends, and as a very special romantic retreat.

Cartmel is a popular and pretty village with traditional lime washed and stone built houses, shops and pubs. There’s plenty to discover in the immediate area, including a Norman priory, a beautiful river, and the popular Cartmel Races, home of the smallest steeplechase racecourse in the country. Located on the peninsula, Cartmel nestles just six miles south of Lake Windermere. There are plenty of easy walks from the village: you could climb Hampsfell with its panoramic views across towards Morecambe Bay, then descend down to Grange Over Sands or explore the tracks running through Eggerslack Woods. Among the many other highlights of this stunning area are the Grizedale Forest, the vibrant town of Kendal and the wonderful Fell Foot Park.

The unassuming exterior of Bank Court belies its fantastic interior. On entering you will find the cosy and chic lounge. Tastefully furnished and featuring an open fire, TV, DVD and iPod dock, this is a room perfect for relaxing in. Crossing the hall, a couple of steps take you down into the dining room. Set for six, this handsome room makes for a grand place to dine with your friends and family. Moving into the kitchen, you will find it fully equipped with all you need to rustle up your favourite meals, including an electric range oven with gas hobs, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, coffee cafetiere, Nescafé Dolce Gusto machine, sandwich toaster, bread maker, slow cooker and food mixer, as well as washing machine and tumble dryer. Heading up to the first floor you will find two double bedrooms. The master bedroom with king-size bed overlooks the village square and has an en-suite shower/dressing room with WC. The second comfy bedroom also features a king-size bed. Also on the first floor is the bathroom with shower over the bath and a WC. Off the bathroom is a fabulous dressing room with dressing table, armchair and chaise longue. A steep, narrow tread stairway leads up to the attic bedroom, with a king-size bed which sits under a pitched ceiling. Cosy and comfortable, there is a small en-suite WC tucked in under the eaves. Finally from the attic bedroom you duck through to the chillax room. Criss-crossed with huge oak beams there’s plenty of fabulous furniture and TV, making this a great space for sitting back and relaxing.

This property is luxuriously furnished, very comfortable, has lots of kitchen equipment. The location is excellent we visited 4 bars all within 2 minutes of the property. Parking away from the property was no problem, just 5 minutes away and free for residents of the property.

This is a delightful cottage in the centre of Cartmel which is a very pretty village with 4 pubs and many restaurants including one with 2 Michelin stars. The cottage is lovely if a bit quirky in its layout. There is a dressing room through the main bathroom and a snug through the top bedroom which has a steep staircase for access. All beds very coRead moremfortable and everywhere was very clean and a well equipped kitchen. It is in an ideal position for exploring the southern lakes. Hide

This cottage is perfectly placed for a day at Cartmel races. It is extremely well equipped for race day with chairs, wind break, table, wicker basket and the all important pass to park on the race course. It also has the best selection of maps and walking books that I have ever come across in a cottage. The wine fridge was a blessing. Two of the paRead morerty were over 6ft and the ceiling was low in the kitchen. Also stepping down into the dining room was problematic. This should be mentioned. Hide

The surroundings are stunning with loads of opportunity for beautiful scenic walks and running. we also did two experience excursions, one on segways and the other in an escape room - ideal for a rainy afternoon.
