Semi-detached cottage situated on a millpond in a quiet location within walking distance of the village of Hawkshead.

In Hawkshead, visitors can find a number of shops, pubs, and National Trust properties, including the Beatrix Potter Gallery which is based in the former workplace of her husband, William Heelis. Slightly further afield, the area is full of places for guests to explore, whether they are interested in the stunning landscape, historic buildings, or trying their hand at some of the outdoor pursuits that the area has to offer. Lake Windermere, the longest lake in the region, is just a fifteen-minute drive from the property.

Entering this lovely semi-detached cottage, guests come straight into the welcoming kitchen/diner with its dining table, oven, hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, and dishwasher, whilst the washing machine is housed in an under-stairs cupboard. There is also a seating area in this room, with comfortable chairs, TV, and an electric fire. Next to the kitchen, guests will find the lounge. The comfortable seating is arranged to make the most of the wood burner-effect electric fire, which keeps this room lovely and warm whatever the weather. There is also a TV/DVD, and a range of guide books to the local area. The property’s three bedrooms are located on the first floor, the first of which is a double room with a handy wash basin. The further two bedrooms are a twin and a cosy single room. The bathroom is also on this floor and has a shower over the bath and WC.

Outside, there is a lawn area for guests to enjoy to the front of the house, but guests should be aware that children will need to be carefully supervised in this area due to the mill pond. There is also a patio area with table and chairs, which makes a great place to enjoy an alfresco meal in the stunning surrounds. There is ample off-road parking.

Our first time in the lake dsitrict and we couldnt of asked for better. We were close to hawkeshead Ambleside and lake windemere. Wray castle was also a fun day out. The owners of the cottage live next door but they are lovely.

Lovely cosy and warm cottage within easy walking distance to the village of Hawkshead (just take a torch for night time!) Susan and John couldn't have been more welcoming and the views were lovely. The cottage included everything we needed and the kitchen was very well equipped.

A lovely house in a good location for visiting the main sights in the lakes. Loved the strolls to the local pub and the friendliness of the owners.Altogether fab!
