Broad Howe is a wonderful family home with astounding and unrivalled views over Esthwaite Water. It's half way up a hill with access via a private track. Heated throughout with silent and tastefully selected electric radiators. We managed to extend our stay by a few days as we enjoyed it so much. I have many beautiful photos of the scenery. Even inRead more bad weather the views are lovely, nestled next to the log fire and watching it through the large floor-to-ceiling windows. Hide

Fabulous property. Very comfortable with the most fantastic view. Great location for exploring the southern lakes. Exceptionally well equipped. Very tricky 5 (at a minimum) point turn to get in and out of the drive

Broad Howe is the perfect place for a Lakeland Holiday with beautiful view and walks straight out on the fell, Esthwaite below and many famous peaks in view and easily reached. It happens to have half the rainfall of Ambleside, which has half the rain fall of Buttermere.

Great property, fantastic views of the lake and surrounding countryside, only downside the track leading to the property and the five point turn required to turn into the "drive".

This property is remote but the views are superb. The property itself is very large and very well equipped. I would recommend this property to anyone.

Wonderful location with stunning views. Cottage was very comfortable, clean with a good selection of equipment. Absolutely ideal for our family, 6 adults, 2 children and a dog. We stayed at Broad Howe in spring last year and just had to return to this very special place this autumn. It is spacious and has a lovely homely feel (its library, collections of old family photographs and writings from the 1940s etc). It is peaceful and you can walk straight onto the hills, with the Langdales and other peaks in the middle distancRead moree. The garden and surroundings are magical. The mist over the valley one morning was special - and too, the early morning sun on the east facing side of the valley. Sunset was gorgeous as we sat with drinks on the sheltered veranda. I have visited Broad Howe since I was 2 in 1931 when my grandparents lived there. During the war I lived there with my cousins. Then my parents retired there and I was married from there. For ten years I and my brother looked after it. So it is my beloved home when I go back.
