Set in the heart of the Lake District, this gorgeous apartment lies near the northeast shores of Coniston Water, offering easy access to the shoreline and a choice of excellent walks with superb views.

The tranquil village of Coniston sits at the very heart of the Lake District at the northwest tip of Coniston Water, sheltered in the lea of the Coniston mountain range. Coniston Water is one of the most people friendly lakes, with much of the shore and the whole lake open to the public. Its wooded and grassy banks, craggy coves and deep water are home to a rich variety of flora and fauna. At the boating centre you can hire rowing boats, sailing dinghies, kayaks, canoes or small motorboats. There are plenty of walks and cycle trails. To the east of Coniston Water lies Grizedale Forest: a vast working woodland crisscrossed with paths and tracks for walking and mountain biking.

Approached from a spacious gravelled parking area you step down into the private slate shaled garden with flowering shrubs and patio area, and through the French doors into the open-plan lounge/diner. Delightfully furnished and featuring a traditional wood burner and oak beams, this is a perfect place to tuck up and relax with a good book or catch a movie on the TV. You will also find a charming dining area. To the rear of the lounge is the attractive galley kitchen, which is fully equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, Nespresso coffee machine and a generous range of recipe books. The washing machine and tumble dryer can be found in the slate built utility room which is in the garden and can also be used for storing bikes, wood, BBQ and garden furniture. Exploring this delightful property further, you will find two comfortable bedrooms: a double and a twin. The twin bedroom has the added charm of a door opening onto the garden area. There is also a bathroom complete with shower over the bath and WC.

Outside you will find the garden area is perfect for sitting back on sunny days, enjoying BBQs and relaxing with a morning coffee or taking in the breathtaking views and beautiful sunsets over the dramatic backdrop of The Old Man of Coniston.

Campbell is a lovely cottage in a superb location. It has been considerately furnished and has a lovely, large kitchen with a separate freezer. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Campbell. The only thing my husband struggled with was the low ceilings and beams (hes 62 and had to remember to duck going into the kitchen. Other than that this is a quaint, comfortable and cosy cottage with everything you would need for a home from home holiday.
