Beautiful Lakeland cottage with many original features enjoying a tranquil location close to many of the Lake District’s most popular attractions.

Situated in the hamlet of Far Sawrey, this pleasant, detached cottage is just a five-minute drive from the pretty village of Hawkshead, with its numerous National Trust properties and ‘higgledy-piggeldy’ streets and chocolate box cottages. An easy distance away is the beautiful Lake Windermere, arguably one of the UK’s most picturesque locations. Around the lake there are plenty of places from which to catch boat cruises, hire boats, take a windsurfing lesson. Why not try your hand at paddle-boarding? For those who prefer to stay on dry land, there are plentiful opportunities for scenic walks, climbing, and cycling.

This beautiful cottage has been lovingly converted from two smaller cottages in to one spacious holiday home sleeping seven guests. The owners have combined old world charm, with modern comforts creating a welcoming home from home.  The front door of the cottage leads guests straight into the spacious dining room with its cosy wood burner and dining table. The kitchen is next to the dining room and has an Aga-style oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. The washer/dryer and a freezer can be found in a separate utility room. Adjoining the kitchen is the light and airy breakfast room with windows on 3 sides overlooking the garden. Off the dining room there is a downstairs bathroom with a bath with over the bath shower.  The lounge next to the dining room. This charming room with the original range with open fire and bread oven, a TV and DVD which make this room a lovely place to relax at the end of the day. There are two staircases leading to the first floor, one at either end of the house. The staircase at the lounge end of the house leads to two bedrooms, a double and a single, as well as a bathroom with shower and WC. At the opposite side of the house, a second set of stairs leads to the other two rooms, this time a double and a twin.

Outside, the property has a south-facing private garden with lawns and a patio seating area. There is also a stream running along the bottom of the garden which has a steep sides, so children will need to be carefully supervised. There is off-road parking for four cars.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

A very clean, well equipped cottage. Comfortable and cosy. If you like gardens, you will certainly appreciate this one. Something different to see every day. The option to buy from the local milkman is a fantastic idea. Fresh milk left daily and you can order the essentials too, pay at the end of the week. Superb holiday home. Lovely thank you!

A truly lovely Lakeland cottage in a fantastic location within walking distance of Beatrix Potter's Hill Top house and a great pub serving good food. Four bedrooms, two plus separate shower room accessed via one staircase with two further bedrooms accessed by another staircase. Perfect location, lovely terraced gardens with stream at the bottom. Walking distance to Cuckoo Brow Inn in Far Sawrey for great food. Close to Ferry across Windamere and National Trust & English Heritage properties. Bus service from Hawkeshead via Near & Far Sawrey to Ferry every 50 minutes very handy. Great area to stay amazing walks and fantastic places to eat close by all very dog friendly. We loved our stay in the cottage it was spacious and although we were only 2 and 2 dogs it was great. It would be an ideal place for families to stay. We will visit again I'm sure. Team at Lakeland Holidays handled every thing we needed quickly more wood foRead morer log burner and broken kettle. Great cottage in excellent location. Local pub is fantastic. Everything you could need/want is provided and works well. Nice homely feel too - we didnt fret (too much) about our kids running around. Lovely garden. And quiet too. Highly recommended.

Relaxing, peaceful and tranquil cottage in a scenic historical part of the lakes. Everything within minutes and miles on your doorstep including wonderful walks, ferry rides and the historical icon " Beatrix potters" landscape.

Dove cottage is a family friendly, comfortable cottage in a very peaceful spot. Great place to relax and enjoy a holiday with family. The layout of the cottage was perfect for us and being able to use the open fire and the Aga proved entertaining! Watching the birds in the garden and the sheep on the hill was a very relaxing way to spend time. It iRead mores only a short walk to the local pub and not far to Hill Top either. The ferry link to Bowness being so close was a great way to cross the lake and get to the attractions, shops and villages on the other side of Windermere without spending time in the car. Although the bedrooms are not large they had comfortable beds and the storage spaces were plenty big enough. The bathrooms were good, I think recently upgraded, and the showers were very good. The kitchen was well supplied with everything needed, we just needed to allow time to conquer the cooker. Overall the cottage was a wonderful home from home where we all had a wonderful week. Hide

Beautiful cottage and excellent location for walks from the door. Fantastic pub just up the road. Shower is great, but oven is tricky to use. We went kayaking on Windermere with our boys, visited Brockhole and completed Grizdale GoApe. Walk or morning run upto Moss Eccles Tarn not to be missed.
