These stunning ground-floor mews cottages and one two-storey cottage are set within this beautiful Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offering accommodation for both families and couples in an area surrounded with spectacular walks.

Thornthwaite is a small village in the Lake District with views of Skiddaw and the cottages are close to the bustling market town of Keswick. This tranquil area is a perfect retreat for walking or cycling, a paradise for dog walkers. There are walks for everyday of the week. This area is famous not only for its lakes, forests and mountains, but also for its associations with the early 19th century poetry and writings of William Wordsworth. The properties offer you the perfect base to discover and explore the whole of the Lake District and all its attractions. Within easy reach you will find Newlands Adventure Centre, The Lakes Distillery and Go Ape Tree Top Adventures.

This beautiful cottage based been lovingly designed to provide comfort and relaxation whilst on your holiday. Going through the front door into the lounge, with its large windows, is a bright and welcoming space with comfortable sofas, and French doors which lead out into the garden. There is also a TV / DVD player and a gas fire for those chillier evenings. Step through to the country-inspired kitchen / diner, which is well-equipped with electric range oven and hob, microwave, fridge / freezer and dishwasher. There is also the added bonus of a useful utility room with an additional freezer and a washing machine. There is also room for all at the dining table - a place to enjoy family time or catch up  with friends. Going through the cottage, there is 1 large king-size room with TV, plenty of storage space and fantastic views to take in. A further 2 twin rooms, both beautifully finished, making the most of the exposed brick work and sloped ceilings with sky lights, adding even more of a light and airy feel. There is a ground floor shower room, with WC and an upstairs bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC.

Continuing outside, there is a fantastic, well-maintained private garden for you all to enjoy, surrounded by dramatic scenery. With an outdoor table and chairs on the patio, this is the ideal spot for a glass of something chilled after a busy day of exploring.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Please note there is a refundable £150 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

The cottage was amazing to say the least. It had everything you needed. The owners were very pleasant - just a phone call away for advice. It was very dog friendly (poo bags and towels at the front door) . It had ample car parking spaces . The nearest pub was a 25 min walk to braithwaite - quiet scary walking back in the dark. Very spacious and comfortable cottage. Very well equipt with everything you could possibly need. Had a lovely stay and was a home from home. Excellent place to stay and a lovely pub nearby in Braithwaite called The Royal Oak. The cakes are also delicious from the cafe next door.

Lovely house, spacious but cosy and warm, underfloor heating. Very well equipped. Nice private garden and lovely view of Skiddaw from the upper floor. Helpful owner just next door at the Gallery during the day.

As a family of 4 and 2 dogs, we all had a wonderful time at Gallery Cloisters. Oly couldnt have been more welcoming and helpful - a perfect host! The house is fab, quiet, but close enough to Keswick, and with enjoyable walks straight from the house, or within 10/15 mins drive. Recommend it, and hope to go back!

This was our 2nd visit to this lovely cottage. It has great walks from the door. Short 5 min drive to Braithwaite for 4 pubs / eateries. Keswick is a 10 min drive. We stayed for 2 weeks so that we could have some chill out time in between mountain walking, and the cottage had all the necessary equipment you could wish for. The cottage was beautiful and the photos do not do it justice! It felt like being at home, the owners we very polite and friendly and was handy having them so close by! We would highly recommend staying here and would very happily stay here again!

Wonderful spacious and clean property within a beautiful quiet village. Owner Oliver could t do enough for us and gave us loads of information about where to go. His Art Gallery and tea room next door was very pretty and praceful so didnt interfere with our stay here at all. In fact, it was very handy to have Oliver working next door from 9am till Read more5pm. Shared spacious shingle car park backed by forest was lovely! This is a lovely, spacious and airy cottage with stunning views. It is a short drive into Keswick, and Cockermouth, and a really pleasant walk into Braithwaite for a pub lunch. We took a 13 month old toddler and were provided with a clean travel cot and highchair, but there are a couple of tiled steps into the kitchen and another couple of steps inRead moreto the lounge area so we needed eyes in the back of our heads.
