Thornthwaite is a small village in the Lake District with views of Skiddaw and the cottages are close to the bustling market town of Keswick. This tranquil area is a perfect retreat for walking or cycling, a paradise for dog walkers. There are walks for everyday of the week. This area is famous not only for its lakes, forests and mountains, but also for its associations with the early 19th century poetry and writings of William Wordsworth. The properties offer you the perfect base to discover and explore the whole of the Lake District and all its attractions. Within easy reach you will find Newlands Adventure Centre, The Lakes Distillery and Go Ape Tree Top Adventures.

Outside: shared grounds to the front of the property perfect for alfresco dining. Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen, towels, electric, underfloor heating, central heating and Wi-Fi included. 2 dogs welcome. Additional info: there is an on-site gallery and tea room, you will receive a complimentary drink on arrival and 10% off purchases from the gallery. Location: pub and shops within walking distance. Arrival: 4pm.

This beautiful two-storey accommodation restored in 2016 offers THREE bedrooms: 1 king-size and 2 twins. Shower room: with shower and WC, on the first floor. Shower room: with shower and WC, on the ground floor. Lounge: with gas fire and TV/DVD. Kitchen/diner: well-equipped with electric range oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Utility room: with washing machine and freezer. Outside: private garden and patio area and garden seating. Additional info: bike storage available.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Please note there is a refundable £150 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

We had a lovely stay over Christmas. The owner had even put up a tree for us. Property was superbly presented, clean, warm and with plenty of space for our family.

We had a fabulous week. The cottage is clean, well equipped and cosy with plenty of space. The location is ideal for exploring Keswick and the surrounding area. We hope to stay again next year

This is a beautiful cottage, set in a perfect setting with walks galore straight from your doorstep. It's a short car drive (5 mins) to the nearest pub (25 mins if walking). They also own a lovely gallery which serves the most amazing cheese scones with chilli sauce. We will be returning next year :-)

Spacious accommodation plenty of room for our family of five to sprawl in comfort. Good walks from the doorstep, very quiet and peaceful garden. Keswick, with its amenities, a short drive away, or bus if you prefer. Location could only be improved by having a pub within 100m, but that's a big ask.

The cottage was wonderful, bigger than it looks from the photos and very clean and comfortable with view of Skiddaw from the main bedroom. The area was very peaceful and ideally located for touring the Lakes. We would not hesitate to recommend this property.

We had a great time staying in this gorgeous house, it is located just off the A66 so really easy to get to. It is in a really quiet village so if you want to get away from it all this is ideal. Lots of walks nearby but you really need a car to get to all the tourist attractions in the lakes. The house is well equipped, great layout and the garden Read morewas just beautiful. We also had our two dogs with us and it was ideal as the garden is self contained. Hide

A luxurious property with great attention to detail and owners who couldn't do enough for you but left you alone. We were lucky with the weather and we and our dogs loved it.
