Period cottage, stylishly updated to provide a beautiful retreat for two guests, situated on the southern edge of the Lake District National Park, only six miles from Lake Windermere.

This property enjoys a quiet location in the village of Lindale, which lies between the coast at Grange-over-Sands, and the picturesque Lake District. In the village itself there is a village shop, as well as two pubs, whilst a larger range of shops can be found in Grange-over-Sands, some 2.5 miles away. Heading north, through the fells of the Lake District National Park, visitors come to the village of Lakeside which sits on the southern shore of Lake Windermere and from where it possible to take a relaxing cruise around the lake, stopping on the way at Bowness or Ambleside, or perhaps combine the trip with a visit to the Lakes Aquarium or on the trains of the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway.

This property offers a high standard of accommodation throughout and has been thoughtfully styled by an award-winning interior designer, ensuring that the cottage is a true one-off. Stone steps lead up to the front door which opens directly into the lounge area of the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, a wonderfully cosy space where a comfortable sofa and armchair sit under the beamed ceiling next to the warming wood burner. There is a Smart TV, as well as a hi-fi and iPod dock, all of which can be enjoyed from the dining area and kitchen, as well as the lounge. Behind the sofa, a rustic dining table sits between the lounge and the well-equipped kitchen where guests will find an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher. The washer/dryer meanwhile can be found in a separate utility cupboard. Open-tread wooden stairs lead from the kitchen area to the double bedroom on the first floor. This sanctuary-like space has been beautifully finished with loving attention to detail, and has its own TV/DVD, perfect for relaxing with a late-night film. Crossing the landing from the bedroom, a dressing room provides plenty of storage space for clothes, beyond which there is a contemporary shower room with a walk-in shower and WC.

There is small garden to the front of the property with bench seating, and one off-road parking space to the rear.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Please note there is a refundable £150 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

Excellent location for visiting the South Lakes. The property is perfect for couples. It is cosy and well equipped and extremely comfortable. We were greeted with a spotlessly clean property and a home made welcome pack. Only downside very little outside space but as we visited in November this was not an issue. We absolutely loved our time at Lyme Cottage- a relaxing and comfortable stay! The house didnt disappoint, it was just as cosy as the photos depict. It had everything you could need and we especially loved the log burner! We werent sure whether the location would be a bit isolated but it turned out to be ideal for accessing all areas, both the coasRead moret and the lakes. Any main shops are only a 5 minute drive and the local pub is a short walk from the house. We would definitely return! Hide

We were greeted to a very tidy, very clean cottage with a beautiful welcome hamper. All the facilities worked great with no snags or mishaps. The log burner was fantastic especially after arriving back from long walks around the Lake District. Great cottage, lovely feel, nice touch with welcome bag of goodies, could do with 2nd loo roll. Loved it but location is a bit off due to local pub not allowing dogs and not much else to do in close vicinity.

We had a lovely relaxing break at Lyme Cottage. It was very well equipped and beautifully appointed. The lovely L'occitane bath products and the bread, scones, jam and biscuits were much appreciated. We enjoyed being able to walk to The Royal Oak which served great food. We will probably return for another short break in the future. Thank you

We had a really great holiday; it's a top little spot you have here.. We've had a few breaks in the Lake District over the years but have always tended to head "inland" either to Ambleside or Grasmere out of habit really, but in future this part of the LD is definitely a bit we won't be missing again. It's got everything: olde worldy villages, kissRead more me quick seaside towns, great beaches and then there's the Lake District countryside/wilderness to top it off... Weather gods been smiling on us all week too, we totally lucked out. Anyway we've thoroughly enjoyed it. Hide
