Semi-detached cottage in a tranquil location on the outskirts of the village of Hawkshead, with its range of shops, pubs, and historic buildings.

This property is ideally situated for those who want to make the most of all that the Lake District has to offer, both in terms of its stunning landscape and its cultural heritage. The village of Hawkshead, the centre of which is just a two-minute walk from the property, is known for its connections to both Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth, both of whom have National Trust properties in the village dedicated to them. Both Lake Windermere and Coniston Water are within a twenty-minute drive of the property, both offering visitors opportunities to take to the water. There are plentiful scenic walks in the area, as well as more challenging hikes and climbs.

Two steps lead up to the front door of this property, which opens onto a hallway, off from which a door opens onto the lounge. This is a tastefully decorated room, with a bay window overlooking the neighbouring field, a cosy wood burner, TV, and DVD. To the rear of the property, the spacious dining room is a relaxing space in which to linger over family meals, with a dining table seating six, another wood burner, and shelving unit which is well-stocked with games and books. French windows open onto the patio garden, allowing guests to open up this space during the warmer months. The kitchen, which enjoys views over the local countryside, is well-equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, and dishwasher, whilst a door leads on to the utility room where guests will find the washing machine, and fridge/freezer, as well as a convenient WC. The utility room, like the dining room, gives access to the rear garden. Upstairs, there are three restful bedrooms: a double, a twin, and a single room, all of which are tastefully decorated with pine furniture and light, simple colour schemes. The bright and contemporary bathroom is also on the first floor and offers a bath, separate shower cubicle, and WC.

Outside, there is a patio garden with seating to the rear of the property, and a driveway for two cars just to the side of the cottage. Guests are able to use the garage for storing bikes, etc.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Great location many walks from the door ,warm comfortable property. Well equipped with kitchen utensils. Liked the dining area. Plenty of places to sit.and relax. Downstairs toilet and utility good. Very comfortable beds. Cloakroom good also.

A fantastic location for a stay in Hawkshead - all of the benefits of the village without any of the drawbacks e.g on-site parking,a garden, a quiet spot, good views. On-site parking is a huge bonus in summer. The house was very comfortable. A bigger shower would be beneficial and if you could find a way of putting in a second shower room ( part ofRead more the utility room ) that would be excellent - particularly when there are 5 people staying. A picture view from the front windows yet only a short walk to the shop and pubs .great walks from the front door who needs a car (recommend the walk to tarn hows )

Clean and comfortable house with everything you would need for a self catering holiday and a stunning view to boot, what more simple pleasures could anyone wish for. As for the beds they are the most comfortable beds in a self catering place i have ever stayed in, all party members spontaneously said how pleasant the beds were to sleep in. I would Read morenot hesitate to recommend this particular house for anyone thinking about staying at this property. I also would like to say how very helpful and friendly we found the holiday company itself to be in dealing with us. Hide
