A footpath leads directly from the property to the shore of the lake, and to the ferry terminal, where the boat runs across to the town of Bowness. Claife Heights is also within walking distance, a National Trust owned viewing platform, which offers unrivalled views across Windermere. The cottage is located in the hamlet of Far Sawrey, the neighbouring hamlet to which is Near Sawrey, a popular destination for visitors who wish to visit Hill Top, the former home of Beatrix Potter.

Entering this beautiful property through the hallway, guests come to the elegantly styled kitchen/diner, the focal point of which is the Aga, with its pretty tiled surround. There is also a large dining table here, as well as an electric hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. French windows from this room lead out onto the property’s patio. The lovely cosy lounge has a warming open fire, comfortable sofas, TV/DVD, and hi-fi. Also on the ground floor there is a double bedroom and a shower room with WC, which also houses the washer/dryer. On the first floor of the property there are three more bedrooms, the first of which is a spacious king-size room which benefits from a pine dressing table and a seating area with sofa and TV, as well as very well-appointed en-suite bathroom with a shower over the spa bath and WC. The second first-floor bedroom is a twin room with en-suite shower and WC, whilst the last room is an attractive single room.

Outside, there is a patio area with seating close to the house, which gives way to a large lawn which enjoys views over Lake Windermere. There is off-road parking provided.

A very nice, well equipped cottage in a lovely location. Certainly like to return when we have the opportunity.

Lovely little cottage, just down the road from Miss Potter's farm - Hill Top. Very rural and a few miles drive to Hawkshead, the nearest supermarket. Lovely and picturesque - lots of walks nearby and two good pubs, make sure you book in advance for reservations!

Loved this cottage

We spent a week here (6 adults, 3 dogs). The cottage itself is well equipped, very spacious, clean and comfortable. The garden is great, it over looks fields with Windermere in the distance, it's also secure so the dogs were able to roam freely. The location was perfect with easy access to Boweness, Ambleside, Grasmere etc, and nearby Hawkshead. I Read morewould highly recommend staying here, we will definitely stay here again, even in the winter months it would be perfect with its log fire and Aga! Hide
