Detached cottage on a quiet country lane, just a few miles from the water’s edge at Lake Windermere and with easy access to country walks and hikes.

Visitors should be sure to take one of the numerous pleasure cruises around the lake, to enjoy the scenery and to visit some of the interesting lakeside towns and attractions, including Wray Castle, Ambleside, and Bowness. The village of Hawkshead is just over two miles from the cottage and offers a range of village amenities, including pubs, shops, and several National Trust property’s,  including the Beatrix Potter Gallery. The village pub is only a short stroll away.

The front door of this property opens onto the entrance hall, which is a handy place to leave boots and coats. Moving through to the main house, there is a reception room with a bench seat and table which leads on to the country style kitchen/diner, with its attractive Welsh dresser and table next to the patio doors which open on to one of the property’s patios. The kitchen is well-equipped with oven, hob, microwave, Belfast sink, fridge, dishwasher and an under the counter freezer with three drawers. The washing machine and tumble dryer can be found in a separate utility room. The cosy ground-floor lounge has an open fire, comfortable chairs, TV, and DVD. One of the bedrooms is also on the ground floor, a double room, which is found just beyond the lounge. There is also a ground floor shower with WC. Upstairs, guests will find two more bedrooms: the master bedroom has a four-poster double bed and its own TV, whilst the other is also a double. There are two bathrooms on this floor: The main bathroom which has a bath with handheld shower and WC, and a shower room with WC. The first-floor is also where guests will find the second lounge, a spacious room with a sofa and TV. It is from here that the second patio is accessed, via a set of French windows.

Outside, the property has two pretty flag-stoned patio areas, one on the ground floor and the other on the first floor, which are linked by stone steps (please take care to supervise children on the steps). Opposite the cottage, there are two off-road parking spaces.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

A wonderful property set in the beautiful village of sawrey, near Beatrix potters former home Hilltop House. The property is old, very spacious and welcomes all your creature comforts including a real fire with logs provided. The walks and views you see from the cottage are truly breath taking.

This is a quaint quirky cottage. It easily sleeps 6 people and there is plenty of room. Each room has a bathroom close by. 2 bathrooms have showers and the third bathroom has a bath with a shower. The cottage was very clean and warm. There was also a supply of logs and coals to light the open fire if you wanted too. Parking was across the road throRead moreugh the wooden gate. Lovely, warm and comfortable cottage. Felt more spacious than I expected and well equipped. Great location with several walks from the cottage and just a short drive to Hawkshead for supplies. Also only 10 minutes drive to Grizedale for Go Ape, bike hire and many walks. Loved the pub, the Tower Bank Arms - just round the corner with good beer and gRead morereat food. Cosy and warm cottage in a very pretty part of Lake District. Lovely kitchen, very peaceful surroundings but near enough to civilisation if needed just across the ferry! Fabulous main bedroom. We have been going to Sawrey for over 60 years and never tire of the area and will hopefully continue to enjoy holidays for many years to come.

ample room for 6 people. Lovely family kitchen area and cosy living room with open fire. Entrance area great for de kitting after walks. 3 bathrooms meant no que for toilet or shower. Lovely quite location. We would recommend and return ourselves.

We had a fantastic,relaxing,busy and thoroughly enjoyable week in the Lake District. The location of the cottage meant that we could walk to all the places we wanted to visit as it was the first time we'd visited in High Season and the roads are busier than when we normally visit.
