Just returned from a long weekend at The Cottage at Cockermouth aka Simonscales Mill cottage. Eric was a brilliant host, always checking to make sure we were happy. Belle the dog and one pony would tell us when they wanted a carrot! The cottage itself is perfect, set away from anywhere but only 5 minutes by car into Cockermouth. Its a lovely walk tRead moreo and from Cockermouth from here as well. Will definately return. Hide

Perfect for my aging parents and for us; ramps, wide doors, grab rails, wet rooms, good parking. Fantastic location overlooking the river, sheep and ponies. Lovely and quiet but close to Cockermouth, great host. Will be returning.

Beautiful location! Peaceful, tranquil. Really enjoyed watching the ponies, sheep, and bird life. Saw deer on the hill across the river, and Greater Spotted Woodpecker. Highlight of the weekend....bottle feeding orphaned lambs . Eric was incredibly helpful, and informative. Highly recommended.
