Attractive countryside retreat just minutes from Lake Windermere and close to the stunning Wray Castle.

This property is a delight for those who want to explore the lake itself, with numerous opportunities for hiring boats, windsurfing boards, and canoes. For those who prefer a more leisurely pace, there is a range of pleasure cruises on offer locally, as well as the regular ferry which runs between Ambleside and Bowness. Whether you want an active holiday or simply want to enjoy the scenery, there is something here for everyone, including mountain peaks, pretty villages, and National Trust properties.

Guests will find it hard not to fall in love with this beautiful cottage, with its period features, inviting accommodation and peaceful location. On the ground floor of the property, a cosy lounge is the heart of the house, a relaxing space with a working fire, comfy sofas, TV, DVD, CD and telephone for incoming calls. Additionally, there is a snug room with a wood burner and a range of books, the perfect place to curl up at the end of a busy day. The dining room has a dining table seating four and sound-system. The pretty kitchen is as practical as it is attractive, with a range cooker, gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. A cupboard just outside the kitchen houses the washing machine. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, a characterful double and a twin room with views over the garden. The property’s bathroom can also be found on the first floor and has a sumptuous roll-top bath, a large separate shower, and WC.

The spacious sunny garden enjoys a south-facing positon and has a large lawn, as well as a patio seating area. There is a separate garden area to the rear of the property which has access to a stream with a series of small waterfalls, guests should exercise caution in this area and carefully supervise children. There is also off-road parking for four cars.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

We had a wonderful Christmas break here, not only was the cottage decked out for Christmas but it was quirky and cosy. Christmas Eve was spectacular as roaming deer walked past the patio doors, made my niece,s day as she believed they were off to meet Father Christmas. We also had snow . Absolutely loved it the cottage is a stones throw from Lake WRead moreindermere. Will definitely come here again. Hide

We had a wonderful stay at The Lodge over half-term. It is in a beautiful secluded location, which was perfect for wandering down to the lake for a swim, and then a brisk stomp back up through the trees to warm up! Lovely cottage in secluded location. It is next to a quiet road so care needed with the dog when using the back door. Fabulous lawned front garden which was secure for our dog and excellent for bird and squirrel watching. Beautiful modern kitchen diner with everything you could need.

Wonderful cottage in pretty grounds. A short walk down the lane to Lake Windermere. The cottage kitchen is perfectly spec'd with loads of room.... lounge/tv room cosy and inviting. We felt so at home there it was marvellous.
