Stylish barn conversion sleeping two, situated on a quiet lane in the Esthwaite Valley, close to both Lake Windermere and Coniston Water.

This property enjoys a stunning location close to the picturesque Tarn Hows, just one mile from the popular village of Hawkshead, known for its connections to Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth. The larger town of Ambleside is just over four miles away and offers a range of shops, eateries and is the starting point for a number enjoyable pleasure cruises on Lake Windermere, including trips to Bowness. Seven miles from the property is Claife Heights, a purpose-built viewing platform which avoids magnificent views over Lake Windermere.

This property is an elegantly converted barn, sleeping two people. On entering the property, coats and boots can be left in the shared hallway, before going through to the main living space, which is a spacious room with lounge/kitchen/diner. The kitchen area is tastefully styled and well-equipped with an oven, hob, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, and washing machine. The spacious lounge area has a high vaulted ceiling, a wood burner, two comfortable sofas, a TV and DVD player, and is a wonderful place to relax after a busy day of sightseeing or hiking. At each end of the room staircases lead to the galleried areas. The area above the lounge has been made into a wonderfully sunny seating area which looks over the gardens and makes the perfect place to enjoy a drink, be it a glass wine or a morning coffee, there is also a handy desk here, should you need to keep up with work. A separate staircase leads from the main living space to the second gallery, where guests will find the king-size bedroom. The property’s bathroom has a bath, shower, and WC.

Outside, guests have use of the five acres of shared gardens, with seating areas and views over the surrounding the countryside. Off-road parking is provided and there is also secure bike storage available.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Lovely cottage with huge amounts of character. The garden is well looked after, we ate outside on the available tables when the weather allowed, our dog loved to run around it. Great location for many of the lakes only a short drive away. A perfect holiday for us and our Labrador!

Really liked the location. Very central and easy to get to all the important sights. A short distance from Hawkshead where there are several pubs doing great food and there is a co-op for all the essentials. The Outgate Inn is a 10 minute walk down the lanes. It's on a working farm, so Joy abounds, quite literally, in lambing season.

Fabulous cottage in a great location. The storage heating system does appear to struggle to warm such a big open plan space, but luckily there was an additional portable heater in the pantry. There is a plentiful supply of logs for the fire included, but I would recommend bringing firelighters or firelogs to get fire started.

The cottage has masses of space and the good quality wooden furniture and bed were much appreciated. We had the log fire burning each evening which made it very cosy. It is in a great location with a couple of walks in walking distance.

The cottage is in a beautiful location with easy access to everything you could want on a holiday in the lakes. The cottage itself is lovely and had everything we needed. We used the fire everyday, as we came in October, which just made the cottage cosier. The cottage is within walking distance of Hawkshead and several walking rotes in the area. OtRead moreher locations are an easy drive away, such as Grasmere. A great place for a UK break. Hide

We had a lovely stay in Weaver's Gallery - it was a great base for exploring all the sights around Lake Windermere. The house itself is lovely and spacious, and it's great to see many of the original features retained from when it was a barn. Very welcoming to pets too (and we often find it hard to find properties that welcome animals other than Read moredogs) - our cat had a great time walking along the beams and sitting in the high windows! We have been to the Lake District 3 times now and have stayed in Weavers Gallery twice. We love the Gallery and it provides everything we need for a relaxing stay with our dogs!
