Pretty cottage set in large shared grounds located in Field Head, overlooking the beautiful Esthwaite Valley, close to Lake Windermere and Coniston Water.

Whatever you are looking for in a Lakeland holiday, it is all available within easy access of this 17th century property. The nearby village of Hawkshead has a range of shops and pubs, as well as plenty of history with its Beatrix Potter Gallery and Grammar School, once attended by William Wordsworth. Walkers and climbers of all levels will find themselves spoilt for choice, with accessible walks at Tarn Hows and challenging climbs at Dow Crag and Hodge Close Quarry. The boating centre on Coniston Water, where guests can hire boats, canoes, and paddle boards, is just five miles away, whilst is a short drive in the opposite direction.

This cottage, once thought to be the weaver’s gallery of the original farmhouse, makes for a peaceful and relaxing place to stay. The large shared hallway provides a place to hang coats and leave boots, before entering the spacious lounge/diner, with its wood burner effect electric fire, views over the garden and TV and DVD. There is comfortable seating in this area, whilst towards the other end of the room, the dining table seats four. The kitchen is well-equipped with an electric oven, fridge, microwave, and washing machine. There are two bedrooms, the first a pretty double and the other a tasteful single, both of which provide a calming and restful atmosphere. The property’s bathroom has a shower over the bath and WC.

Outside, the property has five acres of lovely shared gardens, which are well-maintained with plenty of seating areas in which to relax. There is a barn area where guests can store their bicycles and off-road parking is provided.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

This was an ideal cottage for us, there were three of us and our dog. The views from the garden are lovely, close to the beautiful lakes and I must say Coniston was our favourite, with local amenities close by, I would also recommend the The Black Bull public house, the staff are friendly and the food and beer are really nice too.

Lovely cottage, beautiful landscape and quiet neighbours (sheep). The ideal getaway, quite close to Hawkshead and the main centres of Ambleside, Coniston and Kendal. A visit to Brantwood House is a must.

Weavers loft is clean and well furnished and had everything we needed for our stay for myself, my friend and our dog. The gardens are lovely too. Would definitely recommend.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this particular property. Weavers Loft is extremely comfortable and in an ideal location. There are numerous walks that you can do straight from your door and the village of Hawkshead is just up the road with various speciality shops, supermarket and numerous pubs all serving good food. Ambleside is a short drRead moreive away and well worth a visit. The gardens of this property are always kept in immaculate condition with a table and bench at the top if you want to Bbq/picnic. Cannot find anything to fault with this property, I do usually go for a property with a secure private garden rather than communal garden as this property does share its garden area with 2 other properties but this is specified so we were well aware of this before arrival Hide

Lovely location and perfect for a short break - it is clean, comfortable with everything you need. There are some lovey walks straight out of the farm and it was lovely to wake up with sheep outside the window

New Year Getaway - Had a lovely stay at this cottage location is perfect for walkers and is just a short walk into the village 15 - 20 mins Had a lovely surprise of chocolates and wine left and the table all set for diner . The only thing I would prefer staying here is a more powerful shower we really needed after walking in the rain but it wouldn'Read moret stop us staying here I think this was our third stay so that says it all really Hide
