Hawkshead is known all around the world for its connections to Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth, both of whom are celebrated in two of the village’s National Trust properties. Lake Windermere and Coniston Water are both within a five-mile drive of the cottage with a great range of water sports for all the family.

The property’s kitchen/diner is light and spacious, with a pine dining table seating six, oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, and tumble dryer. Just off from this room is a wonderfully light and sunny conservatory, which offers guests a place to sit with a drink and enjoy the uninterrupted views over the neighbouring countryside. There is also a handy ground-floor WC. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms, all of which are tastefully decorated in a restful and understated style. The first of these is a king-size room, whilst there is also a twin room and a bunk bedroom which is suitable for younger guests. Lovely cottage, well equipped, even had thoughtful touches of dog bowls and towels that were appreciated! The field and forest views were superb. We were all very happy! We would like to return soon.

West View is in wonderful position just a couple of minutes walk into Hawkshead village. The views from the house are great. There was more than enough room for our family (4 adults, a 4 year old and a 1 year old), with a big double bed, 2 singles and a bedroom with bunk beds (loved by the 4 year old boy). The lounge was spacious with comfy sofas aRead morend chair. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils (except a bottle opener) and again spacious with a dining table for 6 people. Plenty of outside space with lots of chairs to use. Hide

West View is perfectly situated close to the beautiful village of Hawkshead, overlooking rolling fields - plus sheep and lambs, and very close to several of our favourite walks in the South Lakes and the Langdales.
