Ideally situated just a stone’s throw from a wonderful sandy beach, this beautifully converted farm building is a stylish single-storey cottage with magnificent views out across a picturesque bay.

The village of Low Newton is one of the most appealing coastal villages in Northumberland with the beautiful sandy beach of St Mary’s Haven making this one of the most tranquil spots in the region. The rocky outcrops of Dunstanburgh Castle and the village of Craster are within walking distance. The area is largely owned by the National Trust and there’s a wealth of stunning scenery, quaint cottages and golden beaches to enjoy. This is a fantastic area for bird watching, with the Newton Pool Bird Reserve nearby. There are also plenty of opportunities in the bay for water sports, and Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Course, a traditional 18-hole course, is just a mile away in the pretty village of Embleton.

On entering this charming single-level converted farm building, you will find yourself in the cosy lounge. Tastefully furnished, with plenty of comfortable seating, a TV, DVD and log effect fire, this is a lovely space to relax in after a great day out exploring this fabulous area. Exploring this lovely property further, you will find the attractive and welcoming kitchen/diner. There’s a delightful dining area, and the kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven, halogen hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine / dryer and dishwasher. You will also find three comfy bedrooms. There’s a master bedroom with king-size bed, TV and beautiful views out to the beach. There’s also a second bedroom with a king-size zip-and-link, which also enjoys lovely beach views. You will also find a cosy twin bedroom. There is also a bathroom complete with a shower over the bath and a WC.

From the cottage, you can enjoy magnificent uninterrupted views across Embleton Bay toward the historic Dunstanburgh Castle. At the front of the property there is a lovely grassed area, which is ideal for enjoying the afternoon and evening sun of Newton Bay. You will also find a south-facing rear lawn with patio and access down to the beach. Ample parking is available for 2/3 cars in front of cottage.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20 for up to 7 nights, £40 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20 for every week or part week thereafter.

Very well appointed and cosy cottage in great location right beside the beach. There is no mobile phone service, but the cottage provides a payphone landline which receives incoming calls.

Even though the weather hasn't been great this week, it didn't stop us from thoroughly enjoying our holiday with our two Labradors. We have done our favourite walk to Football Hole more than once and played with the dogs in the sea. One day it was misty on the coast so we did a lovely walk in Thrunton Woods. The colours of Autumn were beautiful andRead more the smell of pine was particularly strong as they were felling trees. After we drove into Rothbury which is very pretty, and had some lunch. You can walk along the river bank here - it is another lovely walk. Good food is always high on our agenda when visiting this area. We have found some great places to eat. We especially love The Ship at Low Newton, The Potted Lobster at Bamburgh and the Bistro at St Aidens Hotel in Seahouses . Hide

2 Old Farm buildings is definitely the best holiday accommodation in Low Newton. It's position right on the beach cannot be surpassed. It is clear at that the cottage is well loved and the facilities provided are second to none. The cottage is very clean and well presented. The location of the cottage on the beach is outstanding. The area is peaceful compared to the other beaches along this part of the coast and there are lots of fantastic walks from the doorstep. We discovered the bird hide close to the cottage which added to our evening enjoyment. Overall a great family holiday.

Lovely location, beautiful views, very well equipped, spacious and welcoming. There was everything you need. We love Low Newton and particularly enjoyed the outside area with the spectacular view. No 2 Old Farm buildings is a perfect cottage in a lovely location. Ideal for walking, relaxing by the beach, visiting castles and eating at local pubs.

We always enjoy our holiday here.The cottage has the best position in the whole of Northumberland! The cottage itself wants for nothing- beautifully furnished. Meals at The Ship are a must-you always get a warm welcome.Some of our favourite walks are to Football Hole, of course the walk to Craster from Low Newton and along the beach at Sugar Sands Read moreto Boulmer stopping for lunch at the pub there.Our two dogs also like a trip to Thrunton Woods which is particularly good if the weather is misty on the coast or cold and showery. Great location... home from home, every comfort there, very clean, spotless, and every thing thought of, dishwasher tablets etc. We visited Bamburgh castle, Barter Books in Alnwick and had crab soup at the Jolly Fisherman's, in Craster
