We loved the location. Cottage very nicely decorated. Recommend Amble market on Sundays. Also Farne Islands a must. Walk to Drurridge Country Park visitor centre along beach at low tide and get food etc or drive there and enjoy. Recommend night strolls along beach - the ease of booking and help Aimee gave was brilliant. Very impressed with your services.

The house is in a stunning location, very peaceful. The house is well presented and comfortable, very easy to stay there and feel at home. The owners are next door and very helpful. The house is well situated to explore Northumberlands beautiful coast. We would definitely stay here again.

The position of the cottage is perfect if you enjoy solitude, nature, wildlife, the near deserted beach (two mins walk away) just, adds to the peace and quiet that this cottage offers.Plus all amenities are a short drive away.

Property had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. We enjoyed a fabulous week at the Beachcombers Retreat, Amble. Beautiful, well-appointed property with wonderful seaviews from balcony. Lovely enclosed garden perfect for our dog and lovely quiet beach on the door step.Village of Walkworth 5 minute drive with nice variety of dog friendly pubs and restaurants and amazing castle. Beachcombers Retreat is an ideal location for beach lovers. Walks directly from cottage onto beach were loved by all of us especially our dog. We enjoyed a Sunday Carvery at the Wellwood in Amble - good honest pub grub. Also enjoyed food at dog friendly cafe in Warkworth - Bertrams. Amble pods have some lovely quirky gifts and food outlets, recommend the cheese lady - Kielder cheese was our favourite. Amble is certainly up and coming with the regeneration currently being undertaken. Starting to give Seahouses/Bamburgh a run for their money.

Beachcombers Retreat is lovely accommodation in a great location. We had lots of long, wonderful walks along the beach with our dog, who was in heaven. Best restaurant we found was the Old Boathouse in Amble, and Spurellis Ice-cream was fantastic. Highly recommend this holiday house for dog owners, and friendly owners live next door

The cottage and location lead to my family having a very relaxing holiday. The owners of the cottage couldn't have been more helpful. They put things right straight away. Alnwick Castle was 30 mins away which was fantastic for my daughter, a Harry Potter fan. There were so many lovely beaches nearby. We had fabulous food in the local restaurants, the Fish Shack, Sea and Soil, Jaspers...

The cottage is in a superb location overlooking the sea. The ever changing colours make waking up there a pleasure. It is also very peaceful - no traffic noise etc. The owners are very nice people and very friendly. Howick Gardens are worth a visit - go on a Monday or Friday for the very interesting guided tour of the gardens. Boat trip to Farne Islands to see the birds was very interesting.

Beachcomber's retreat is a beautifully kept house with excellent facilities. The home owners are very welcoming and friendly. We loved waking up every morning to a sea view and having a beach on our door step. Amble is about a 45 minute walk with 2 small children and a dog. Low Hauxley is an excellent base to explore the beautiful Northumberland coast or just a lovely place to relax. We rode broomsticks at Alnwick castle. Visited Holy Island, Bamburgh, Warkworth, Alnmouth and Amble. We really enjoyed our Puffin Cruise, (children were allowed in the wheel house, which they loved). Spurreli's ice cream, shopping at the pods, fish and chips were great in Amble. My husband enjoyed the real ale at the Mason's Arms in Amble. The food and real ale were excellent in the Red Lion in Alnmouth. Warkworth has some lovely little shops and Fenwick gallery has lovely art and jewellery. All the beaches are lovely and clean and relatively deserted. The North East welcome was brilliant, everyone was friendly. I would recommend this house to anyone, we've stayed in many holiday lets over the years and this one was superb. Excellent, dogs can stay in this house, but you couldn't tell. Everything we needed was there and added luxury on demand movies from sky And wi fi. Would definitely want to stay here again, due to the beautiful house in a peaceful location.

Incredibly happy with our cottage - a perfect place to stay. The cottage was very clean upon arrival. The facilities were absolutely spot on. Loved our stay at Beachcombers Retreat. It's in a fantastic location - the sea views are amazing. Couldn't believe how wonderful the beaches are, especially Druridge Bay, Alnmouth and Embleton Bay. Boat trip to Coquet Island was wonderful. Loved the Ship Inn at Low Newton, Sea and Soil at Amble and the Seafood Shack at Alnmouth. Enjoyed walking around Warkworth (afternoon tea at Bertrams was lovely) and Alnwick (Barter Books in the old railway station is worth a visit). But of course the simple things in life are best and I'll never forget the evening walks along the beach with curlews, oyster catchers and redshanks calling as the sun went down. And all of this within a stones throw of the cottage. Wonderful. We have already recommended Beachcombers Retreat to friends as a place to stay in Northumberland.
