Nestled in a peaceful location in the heart of the beautiful historic picture postcard village of Norham, with its wonderful 12th century castle ruin and impressive St Cuthbert’s church. The village offers excellent amenities that include friendly country pubs, quality butchers, well stocked village store, bakers and even a gun shop. Located on the south banks of the magnificent River Tweed, renowned for its excellent salmon and trout fishing, close to the Scottish borders. The immediate area offers excellent walking and cycling routes, with the Cheviot Hills and Northumberland National Park close at hand. Enjoy a trip to Paxton house, Chain Bridge Honey Farm, Floors, Bamburgh and Thirlestane Castles, East Links Family Park and Flodden Battlefield site.

Enter the charming, stylish, period cottage into the hall, through to the light, bright and spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, enjoying lovely views over the village green, with TV/DVD and wood burner perfect for cosy nights listening to the crackling fire. From the lounge area enter through to the well-equipped kitchen area with electric oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, coffee machine and dining table. Next you will find the delightful conservatory with seating area and door leading out to the enclosed rear garden. Leading through from the kitchen into the hallway you will find the bathroom, with shower over the bath with electric under floor heating and WC. Heading up the stairs to the first floor, you are met with a pretty double bedroom and a spacious king-size bedroom next door, both enjoying wonderful views across to St Cuthbert’s Church and over the rear garden.

Venture outside into the fully enclosed rear garden, providing a safe haven for dogs and children, with a seating area, ideal for alfresco dining. There is enclosed off-road parking for two cars at the rear of the property and roadside parking available directly in front of the property too.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Very well equipped and comfortable cottage in a lovely village close to the river Tweed and fantastic for walking with a dog. The owner was very helpful and friendly and left a luxury hamper of treats for us and the dog. Overall, highly recommended.

Beautiful cottage in a small quiet village, definitely need a car to get around, a 2min walk to the edge of the river tweed, with stunning views. The cottage has everything you need and Rosie is friendly and helpful. This was the second time we have stayed at the cottage. Our dog loved it

Rosie, the owner is a kind and lovely lady, she showed us around the cottage and provided lots of lovely goodies. We loved Darling cottage and the way Rosie has decorated, its like a home away from home, very well equipped, comfortable and cosy. The village is lovely and theres plenty of history to discover. Great butchers, pub and bakery. We pickeRead mored a good week as the Coldstream Riders came into the village which was amazing to see 100 horses! We had the Rag Bags lady Morris dancers too. Hide

Excellent location for exploring the hills and coasts of Northumberland plus the Scottish borders. Lovely location in a friendly village . The cottage furnished and equipped to a high standard. Personal welcome by the owner much appreciated.

Like walking into a quaint tardis the cottage was very well equipped with everything we needed, situated in a nice dog friendly village with walks only a few minutes away along the Tweed.

Darling cottage is tastefully furnished and immaculately clean throughout. The furnishings are new and modern. We slept really well and we were able to adjust the heating for our own comfort. We made good use of the washing machine during our stay (as the weather had been so wet!). The owner greeted us with a very generous welcome pack of goodies (Read moreincluding a bottle of pro secco and Easter) and there were two vases of fresh flowers -in the kitchen and bedroom. Hide

Great location within easy reach of the National Park, the river tweed of course and the best of the castles as well as Holy island, Farnes islands, Seahouses etc etc. The village has the most wonderful butchers and bakers plus a gunmakers which is always useful.
