Well restored, comfortable cottage in a beautiful setting. However we were not expecting it to be 8 miles west of Rothbury. Ideal if you are walking locally, but not so good if you are visiting Northumberland places of interest.

Really clean and well presented. The written information sent by the company prior to our visit was really helpful, and I would urge people to use this before they go for local knowledge. Also the discount vouchers were a good idea. The cottages were in a beautiful part of the country, and we really enjoyed a peaceful stay; so did the dog!

High spec equipment clean and tidy and exactly what was set out in literature was in the cottage to match expectations. context the accommodation was of a high standard despite being very compact the effective use of space and high design standard did not make the cottage feel cramped. The three wheat heads pub in Thropton should be recommendedRead more for high quality food with the proviso to book ahead. Cragside is a must visit particularly for National Trust members with young families as this is worth more than 1 visit on a longer stay to fully explore the house and grounds. The Castle Inn in Bamburgh also highly recommended for food and real ale. Newcastle House Hotel for reasonably priced food and warm welcome. Hide

The cottage is great. It has all the facilities we needed. The location is slightly out of the way but we enjoyed that. It is just a short drive to Rothbury which is a lovely little town with everything we needed. The tennis court was great and with two teenage lads, it kept us all busy.
