This restored 18th Century cottage is situated in the heart of beautiful Strathspey. The perfect holiday escape for couples and families to explore and experience the stunning Highlands of Scotland.

Situated in the heart of Cairngorms National Park, the village of Nethy Bridge has been a holiday destination since Victorian times, yet it remains unspoilt. The perfect area to enjoy the glorious countryside, with easy access to a vast range of activities, including climbing, walking, mountain biking, riding, fishing, water sports, golf and skiing. The cottage sits at the edge of the Abernethy Forest, the largest remaining section of the ancient Caledonian pine forest. The forests around are full of interesting wildlife for nature enthusiasts, with bird-spotting at the RSPB reserve at Loch Garten, a short drive away. Walk to visit Nethy’s own Castle Roy or drive to Ballindalloch, Cawdor and Brodie Castles. Enjoy adventures at the Highlands Wildlife Park, Landmark Adventure park, Highland Folk Museum and Speyside Steam Railway.

Enter the property via gravel path, up four steps with a handrail and in the front door. Stepping inside the entrance hall you will find the generous bathroom with shower over bath and WC. To the right of the hall is the stylish well-equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and washing machine, also providing a light and airy breakfast area at the heart of the cottage, also with access out to the shared courtyard. From here, the stairs take you up to the first floor with two bedrooms, one twin with zip-and-link (which can be made up as a super-king-size on request) and one single bedroom. Back on the ground floor, the cottage also benefits from a dining room with a living flame biomass boiler, perfect for evening meals, a rainy-day jigsaw puzzle or reading a newspaper by the fire. To the left of the entrance hall is a comfy lounge with cosy wood burner and TV/DVD to relax in front of together after a hard day’s exploring, there is also a handy built in desk area here to catch up on some emails. And when you are ready to retire, a small private staircase leads up to the first floor, directly into the super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom (which can be made up as a twin on request).

Stepping outside to the front of the property, you will find the lovely south facing garden with seating and to the rear you will find a shared courtyard paved and planted with views to the hills. There is also access to shared woodland grounds with fire pit, summer house, children’s play area and seating areas. There is off-road parking for two cars and dry storage space can be available for bicycles or outdoor equipment.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
