Nestling in a stunning and tranquil rural location, this fantastic secluded farmhouse is a perfect destination for anyone wanting to enjoy a picturesque and relaxing Highland retreat.

Beautifully situated on the glorious Assynt Peninsula, this charming, south-facing detached cottage enjoys magnificent views over the green valley to the moors and is at the mid-point of the scenic single-track road which winds round the coast from Lochinver to Kylesku. The surrounding area offers excellent outdoor activities including walking, climbing, fishing, diving and boat trips. At the Geopark Assynt there are nature reserves, bird colonies and a wealth of flora and fauna. There are a couple of glorious beaches nearby, including Clashnessie and Clachtoll. There are also opportunities nearby to see the local wildlife, including grazing deer and basking seals.

On entering this lovely and ideally positioned holiday cottage, you will find yourself in the tastefully furnished and welcoming lounge. With traditional wood burner, comfortable seating, TV/DVD and hi-fi, this is a perfect room to relax in. Exploring this delightful property further you will find a charming dining room, and the attractively designed kitchen is fully equipped with gas hob, electric cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. You will also find a very handy drying room. Heading up to the first floor, you will find two comfortable bedrooms. There’s a double room and a zip-and-link, which can be made up as a twin or a double as required. There is also a bathroom complete with shower over the bath and WC. There is an additional separate WC on the ground floor.

Stepping outside, you can relax and admire the spectacular views from the open grounds which surround the cottage. Ample parking and storage for outdoor equipment. 

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20 for up to 7 nights, £40 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20 for every week or part week thereafter.

Perfect location for a wild highland experience. So much wildlife on your doorstep, such as red deer, seals and buzzards. The cottage was really clean, well equipped and comfortable. Superb cottage in a magnificent location. Amazing views from lots of different locations nearby. Sheep and geese in the fields outside the house and a herd of Red Deer regularly outside the house at dusk. Would thoroughly recommend.

The cottage was clean well equipped and very comfortable. It was close to Drumbeg shop and cafe and the road in and out to it is spectacular. Finally the wild life literally comes to the door, red deer every evening, seals and herons in the bag and buzzards overhead.

A superb property in a quiet location with wildlife that come right up to the door. The trip along the road to get there can be tiring, especially if you end up doing it a few times. The property is located in the wild. It has lovely surroundings but few services nearby. So it is a good place for a quiet getaway. Some days we had 10 deer in the garden when we woke and 4 days out of seven there were deer nearby. There is a pair of buzzards on the hill at the back

We have been there for 3 wonderfull weeks with 18 days of brilliant sunshine and only 2 with rain. Oldany Farmhouse proofed to be a good choice , spotless clean and cosy. In the evening we could watch red dear every day, sometimes even on the meadow in front of the house just 20 yards away. The antlers of the stags grew during this 3 weeks about 25Read more inches.
